I’ll be posting monthly check-ins on my 2023 Goals. This is check-in #1!

Take care of my health

This was a good month! I walked every day, did 6 strength workouts total, and didn’t have any food binging moments (there was eating/snacking when I was not hungry, but I’m human, so whatever).

I lost 4.9% of my body weight. I’m excited to keep losing weight and start running again soon! I miss it so much! But walking makes the most sense for me right now.

You can’t see a difference, but maybe in a few months!

Spend less

I only had Starbucks twice this month (both times in Iowa) and the first time I treated me and my snis, and the second time she treated me. I’ve received gift cards (thank you!) so I haven’t spend any money on chais yet.

Gah! I ended up spending a lot on shipping because I sent 3 international packages. Here are all of my shipping costs:

  • $3.62 – mailing my medical records back to the doctor
  • $202.19 – Christmas/Birthday gifts ($113.74, $7.39, $81.06)
  • $35.35 – Valentine’s Day gift
  • $7.60 – mailing our random samples in

So I spent $248.76 on shipping so far. Yikes. The good news is I have more income coming in by working part-time for Fake Meats, and I am using some reward cards so I am getting some cash back that way. And I am getting paid to teach rock painting classes. Also, one of these packages had Christmas and Birthday gifts in it so I won’t mail to that person again until next year. But still. Whoa.

Continue to purge things I don’t use from the house

I have two bags to take to Goodwill that I haven’t yet. Oops. I need to go through more in the basement and office to get rid of.

Visit a new state with Steven

We booked travel to California. It’s not a new state (we’ve been to San Francisco) or a new city (Los Angeles) for me, but it is a city we haven’t been to together before! And we are visiting Joshua Tree National Park and have other fun things planned besides the conference. Yay! I am excited.

Hide a rock a day for the year

So far, so good! Some days I have almost forgot, but then remembered before it was too late!
