Exciting news first! My new Instagram logo is done!

My graphic designer friend Jacquie designed it for me, and I love how colorful, playful, and clean it is. Click on my Instagram link to check out my Highlight Covers too (and see screenshot below)! I’m so pleased to have a logo now.

Jacquie created tags for me to put it on the backs of my rocks as well (although I use my Facebook group’s tag for the rocks I hide here in Illinois… I need to think about that some more. Do I want to add my logo, too?). Here’s the special tag for the Sip & Purr Cat Cafe rocks.

On to painted rocks! Bobbi’s birthday was yesterday, so I painted her two rocks inspired by The Princess Bride. I was very happy the inspo pics didn’t have features on their faces – I struggle painting humans as it is!

I started working on batches of cats for hiding here and for donating to Sip & Purr Cat Café. I draw and paint ten at a time, modeling some off of Sip & Purr cats, then I set those aside and hide half here. This way I can still hide while I work on my donation rocks for them. My goal is to paint 50 rocks to donate. As of publishing date, I have 25.

I hid five of these on my Monday walk.

Sip & Purr has an old TV that they made into a cat bed, and it’s so cute, I had to paint it! The exciting thing about this rock is that I didn’t copy anything – I just looked at the image of the TV on their Instagram and drew it. That’s a big deal for me – I am usually copying an image. (I mean, I still was, but it was a picture that I did my own interpretation of.)

More Sip & Purr rocks. The middle rock is their logo. The way to fix mistakes when painting is to cover your booboo with more paint, but I couldn’t do that here because of the unique background. I tried a few single line drawings that I had to erase with isopropyl alcohol, then let dry and draw on top of. Long story long, I am pleased I was able to draw these versions in one shot. I think I can only do single line drawings when I can use pencil to sketch it out (you can’t on these backgrounds – it won’t erase).

Another batch! Half for Sip & Purr, half hid on my Tuesday walk.

Ha, I have a shirt that says this, and wore it on Monday and it inspired me to paint this. I hid this on my Wednesday RUN! Yes, I did a run/walk, yay yay yay!

I saw an ad for a t-shirt printing company that had something similar to this and I had to put it on a rock! I will hide this today.

Sip & Purr really liked the “cats on a date” rock I painted  (that was the rock they saw in my Facebook group that inspired them to reach out to me!), so I painted four for them. I am still trying to figure out the best way to outline black cats. It’s a struggle.

And finally, five more cats for Sip & Purr. I was going to do a batch of ten but was too lazy to go into the basement and get more rocks. I used a finer pen on their faces and really like how they turned out!
