Notes:

  • Ha, Monday’s strength workout was a fun(?!) glute/quad/hamstring killer that I felt right away Tuesday am, during Tuesday’s afternoon run, all day Wednesday, and still, when I woke up Thursday. And I didn’t even do as many squats as my class did… ouch for them. But yay for tearing muscles down and building them back up, right?!
  • My Monday and Tuesday runs were definitely stress killers. Work was kinda nuts this week, and I needed to run off my frustration! I’m grateful running lets me do that.
  • I was wondering how well my Thursday speedwork sesh would go since I was still sore from Monday’s workout, and it was earlier than I usually run, but it was so mild out it felt great! Yay! We were lucky to have some mild (even with the wind) days this week. Maybe this was our (early) week of spring that we get in Chicagoland? I hope we get another week of it. Ha.
  • UGH Friday. As I mentioned, I was dead tired when I woke up to teach. I ended up taking leave from work that afternoon so I could nap! UGH! Then I somehow woke up at 5:30 am both Saturday and Sunday and felt ready to go. What the heck.
  • I met the local(ish) running club (for the first time) on Sunday! There was a decent sized group and I figured there’d be someone at my pace, and there mostly was. I ended up running a lot faster than I usually do for a “long” run – my 10.4 mile run was my fastest average pace of the week – ah, the power of running with other people! I chatted and listened the whole time and felt great/enjoyed meeting new people (I think this worked out so well for me because I was always behind the big group, running one-on-one with someone – I do best in one-on-one running)! The Sunday run for this club meets at Starbucks so I stuck around and chatted a bit after, too!
  • What is missing from these training reports … cross training! UGH KIM GET YOUR SHIZ TOGETHER AND DO SOME!!!!
