But none of the juicy stuff, sorry. Saving that for my memoir (and therapy).
- Today someone said to me “I didn’t know you were vegan!” To which my response was “I’m glad you didn’t! I don’t want that to be a major part of my identity.” For real.
- No one should be subjected to spending as much time with me as my coworkers have to. Only Steven has signed up for that. To spend the week with me is to be witness to a lot of different emotions, outbursts, and oversharing. I am who I am.
- On that note, my coworkers know more about what’s going on in my personal life than my friends outside of work. It’s too much to keep people updated.
- The bathroom has become my art gallery with me swapping out different painted rocks every few weeks. This sounds very, very weird but many people tell me they love it!

- I got a temporary (position only) promotion! Because so many people are leaving. So not really a celebration. Womp womp.
Same on vegan thing! 😉 I actually now have a new colleague who is not only vegan, but is also American!
I love the idea of an art gallery in the bathroom, especially with your rocks. Hang in there at work, Kim – sending hugs!
Oh sweet! Have you told them about your fave places? I am trying to remember the name of the Asian place you recommended that was SO GOOD!
Thank you, appreciate it!
Let’s make workplace bathroom rock art galleries a thing!
Yesterday we had a werk kerfuffle. We were all in it on Slack and when I sent the message that I’d done the thing that needed to be done, my boss messaged “thank you Birchie?” And then quickly sent the follow up that of course she meant to say “thank you Birchie!” So in that spirit, congrats on your temporary promotion?
Hey if the worst thing your coworkers have going on is that they get to spend their days with you, then I’d say they have it pretty good.
Yes! Let’s!
Oh funny! I like that I can edit my google chats when I do something like that, LOL, cause I definitely do!
Aww, thanks for saying that and putting it in perspective (we have much, much worse things going on at work).
I love that your rocks have their own little easel. So cute! People probably need some lightness and motivation these days, for sure.
I was wondering how the transition to the office was going. Seems like it’s just… a lot. I’m glad you can share stuff with your coworkers, though!
Thank you for noticing! I had to prop them up! Lots of people have told me how much they love seeing them and I love hearing that!
It has been a lot! And life outside of work has been tough too. I am grateful I have such amazing coworkers to share with. They’re wonderful.
