A few notes from the weekend!
Thursday Highlight | Having Starbucks with a coworker I don’t get to see often.
Rebecca is one of those people you feel so energized after (and while) talking to – I’m so glad I happened to be coming in to the office on the random day she was coming in. What a treat!
Friday Highlight | Using AI to help me write Fake Meats blog posts. It’s such a huge help!
Other Friday Happenings | taking a really funny (laser cat!) photo of Snow Jr in the morning • a workout in the rain, followed by a bath • ordering the awesome new Pride Goodrs • watching Jury Duty during lunch break with Steven • using AI to help with some Fake Meats work • another workout after work • receiving a card from a friend in Australia • making (and filming) vegan beef & broccoli for dinner • painting and listening to F9 • reading and going to bed early
Friday Lowlights | burning my mouth on my homemade chai • too many people reaching out to me to share their struggles (I shared a post on my rock Instagram about struggling with anxiety and burnout and a lot of people were supportive – which was so nice! – but a group of people were supportive and used it as an opportunity to unload their hard struggles to me (mostly in DMs). Sigh. I know they were sharing so I’d know I was not alone. And I know they had nothing but good intentions. But when I’m struggling, one of the last things I want is other people’s heavy things. I really like this short on empathy, and wish more people approached it this way. When someone has issues I can relate to I often don’t say it – I listen. And almost always ask before offloading to people.)
Saturday Highlight | Getting all of our outdoor work done so Sunday could be more chill!
Steven originally thought he’d have to work at the warehouse Saturday so we were going to do all our outdoor work Sunday, but the warehouse work got canceled and we moved all the outdoor work to Saturday which made the day really busy, but it was so nice to get it all done and still have a weekend day left! (Also, it was warmer Sunday, so, additional bonus.)
Other Saturday Happenings | finishing an amazing book – Hello Beautiful • going on a bike ride • eating a delicious dairy free Oui yogurt when I got back • a wonderful walk with Kris • picking up farm fresh eggs (and a bell pepper plant) • getting my Warfarin prescription at Target (it auto-refilled before I ran out – this is the first time I haven’t had to work with the pharmacy and insurance to get an “early” refill) • getting groceries at Aldi • lunch and Jury Duty with Steven • planting our tomato plants and sowing all the seeds • putting the leftover tomato plants (19!) in containers • planting 17 red twig dogwoods • taking a shower and getting all the dirt off me • a short nap • El Famous for dinner • finishing F9 • starting Happy Place
Sunday Highlight | Not being bound to a schedule or to-do list! We still had a busy day and got a lot done, but it didn’t feel as taxing as usual.
Other Sunday Happenings | Snow Jr jumping up onto the deck of the cat house when I put his food out – he’s never gotten that close to me! • staying in bed from 5:20-6:30 am instead of popping right out like I usually do • seeing that my friend Helen in Australia received the package I sent • playing with the cats • resining the rocks I painted this week • prepping produce for the week • wrapping birthday presents • a delicious breakfast by Steven, with a chai I didn’t burn my mouth on • listening to the Hen House episode that FakeMeats.com sponsored • seeing Riyanti and her friend at the preserve before our run and chatting for a bit • Riyanti commenting on our matching shoes • running with Steven after he had to take most of the week off due to a cold • someone overhearing me ask Steven if he wanted to grill broccoli and potatoes again while we were running and saying “that sounds good to me!” ha • prepping all the yummy food to grill • grilling & filming for Fake Meats & eating • filming another Fake Meats video • seeing Fast X in 4DX (whoa, first time/last time doing 4DX, but it made for a lot of giggles) – I liked the movie, definitely better than F9 • spending sometime outside with Apollo in the stroller while Steven watered things • salads and watching Jury Duty
Sunday Lowlight | burning my neck and shoulders on my run – I forgot to put sunscreen on there!
I would love to hear more about using AI for the Fake Meat blog posts! TBH I am intimidated by it.
I was too! Steven told me how it worked then I listened to some podcasts about it:
https://podcasts.apple.com/us/podcast/what-is-chatgpt-and-how-artificial-intelligence-can/id910990031?i=1000590968401
https://podcasts.apple.com/us/podcast/chatgpt-10-ways-to-increase-conversions-and-online/id910990031?i=1000605524470

So I made an account here: https://platform.openai.com/overview, and have only used it to generate copy, so far (I am very much a beginner), but you set it up to give you what you want. For example, say something like, “you are a journalist, and you are writing a top 5 article about xyz brand using these 5 products. Provide a list of characteristics.” Then it provides it (really fast!) and you can ask it to edit it or whatever. It’s super cool!
Then I take the copy and use some of it and add to it and rewrite some of it. It’s not perfect, but it’s a great start!
Let me know if that makes sense! I think the podcasts will help too.
I’m curious about the 4DX experience. My husband gets really queasy at a lot of movies (we can’t even do IMAX and he’s get really sick doing first-person videogames), so I’ll probably never go, but I’d like to know what made it “4D”!!
He would really dislike it, I think! Thankfully it wasn’t in 3D at all (I don’t care for that either), you’re just in chairs that move up and down and tilt forward and back and rumble. And the mist water at you and push air at you too.
I am sorry about the people who unloaded heavy stuff on you. I have a couple of friends who – when I vent to them – always jump in with their own stories and it’s … hard. I know they just want to show that they understand and relate, but ugh, can you just listen this time?
Thank you for getting it! I’m sorry it happens to you too. When I need to vent one-on-one I sometimes ask if that person can just listen and not share a story (or give advice) but sometimes there is no stopping it!
We are very much using AI a ton at my company, and I just really appreciate it, lol. It definitely will not take our jobs – it has limited capacity, after all! – but it’s just nice to force the robots to write some copy for me when my brainpower is low. I’m glad it worked for you, too!
Well I know if you, a real writer, are using it, it’s okay for me to as well!!!! Yay! How did your company introduce it to everyone? I am still excited about how much it helped me. I am low brainpower most of the time now!
Oh, wow, you’re using AI?
I try very hard to pay attention to what people need/want when they are sharing their challenges. And I try (I do) not to pile on and share my own. Sometimes I succeed, sometimes I don’t. But I hope that you found the support you needed. <3
I am! It’s very useful!
It does not surprise me at all that you are considerate like that <3
