Monday
- I had my second therapy appointment! I’m finding them so helpful. I look forward to them and feel optimistic after. Someone like me (needy for attention, dying for someone to ask them questions about their life and how they feel) is a perfect candidate for therapy.
- Rock painting friends I don’t even know that well sent me a bag of beautiful rocks to paint as a surprise! How kind! They’re from the StonesByShelley Etsy shop.
Wednesday
- My coworker surprised me with a vegan donut again!
- The FakeMeats.com Plant Basics brand was featured in VegNews.com’s Recipe Club newsletter! They showed how to make vegan Thai basil beef rolls using Plant Basics Crumbles and Plant Basics Just Like Beef Seasoning. You can see the recipe here, and purchase Plant Basics products here. (This is Steven’s brand that he packages in house! Iβm so proud of him!)
- Facebook recommended I friend a coworker of mine in Missouri (MO), and said we had one mutual connection – one of Steven’s close high school friends that I really like. I asked my coworker about it, and she told me when she first moved to MO she met someone and they introduced her to the mutual friend, and now he’s one of her closest friends. Small world! (This coworker also lives in the neighborhood across from my father-in-law.)
- I got another awesome surprise package, from Caitlin! And took this horrible photo of the contents, ha:
Thursday
- I did my first run without stopping for walk breaks! Yay! I ran just over 4 miles.
- I had my INR appointment. Last time it was too high, this time it was too low. I’m supposed to be between 2.5-3.0 and it registered as 1.9, which means my blood is clotting too fast. When it gets too low like that I have to take a shot called Lovenox until it’s back in range. So I’ll be taking that shot until I go back on Tuesday. The pharmacist said the machine sometimes reads the INR as artificially high and maybe it did that last time and we shouldn’t have changed my meds.Β (I also think me trying to lose weight and changing how much I eat doesn’t help.) Sigh.
Friday
- It’s our niece Ella’s first birthday! I can’t wait to see her tonight and go to her party tomorrow!!!!
I feel like I may have missed how important it is for people to ask you questions like that when we were closer friends and in more contact. You’re really great at asking people questions about their lives, I can see where conversations might never switch focus to you, which is probably frustrating. I’m sorry I missed that!
I’m happy to hear that you’re having such a positive experience with therapy!
Oh gosh, no need to apologize at all! It’s never something I noticed with you, so I’m sure you were asking! And thanks for saying that about me π
Your comment makes me think about asking my therapist if I should find a way to nicely ask certain people why they don’t ask. It comes off as not caring but I’m sure it’s just they don’t think to ask or expect you to tell or whatever. But maybe I should just accept people as they are and not inquire. Hmm.
Thank you! And thanks again for helping by recommending EAP.
The thai beef rolls look incredible. I might just have to make those.
Exactly what you said about therapy. I”m off to appt #3 this morning.
Oh yes! I will be watching to see if you do!
Yay! I am so glad it’s going well for you too. Yay yay yay!
So happy to hear that therapy is going well and that you click with your therapist! π Also, so happy that you were able to run without taking walking breaks – I know that feels like such a huge milestone when you start/get back to running!
Thank you x2! I was so excited about my run! It feels so great to be getting back to it. I’m so grateful my body has been happy with it.
What a good insight about therapy! I imagine enneagram 2s get a lot out of therapy because they can finally talk about what THEY need, instead of being everyone else’s therapist, haha. That’s one of the benefits I find as well – I don’t need to water down my words to make my therapist feel comfortable with me.
Yes, I think that’s it! I can be all about me and not feel bad! I am glad it’s that space for you, too! <3
Wait, is Plant Basics shelf-stable? And you get that many servings from it? Seriously? That is a good deal! Hmm…
Also, love that you are enjoying and benefiting from therapy. Not loving that your INR is so dang sensitive. I hope you can find the sweet spot for you, and soon.
Yep! Plant Basics is shelf stable and you get a lot of servings out of each bag π
Thank you!
