I’m posting monthly check-ins on my 2023 Goals. This is check-in #2!
Take care of my health
This month went well! I walked every day and did 9 strength workouts throughout the month. I brought my bike inside to use the trainer starting this month. And I plan to start running again this month too, yay!
I didn’t have any binge moments in February and am really proud of not overeating when I traveled to Tucson and when we had houseguests. I hope I can be that way in LA next month!
I do want to refocus this month, on:
- Eating slower. I talked about it but didn’t make much progress in February. I think the key for me will be starting with less food on my fork/spoon.
- Taking smaller portions.
- Snacking less out of boredom or because I am avoiding something.
I lost 2.3% of my body weight this month and 7.9% so far this year. This month was a much smaller loss than last month, but my clothes are fitting better, and some are starting to get too big, so that’s a good sign.
My INR was in range both times it was checked in February!
Spend less
I spent $81 on shipping – I mailed 9 Valentines, 1 birthday present, and something a friend forgot at our house.
I went to Starbucks twice this month with Steven, and was able to use a gift card both times.
I thought I was doing really well with self-control because I didn’t buy a pair of Goodrs I wanted… but then later in the month I bought a different pair. Ha.
Continue to purge things I don’t use from the house
I threw some stuff out, but it was not a concentrated effort. I need to focus on it more. And I have some bags to take to Goodwill that have been siting for over two months now.
Visit a new state with Steven
Our trip to LA is this month!
Hide a rock a day for the year
I am still on track to hide a rock a day for the year! And friends have been sending me their art to hide to help with the goal so the supply won’t be a problem, I just have to remember to do it each day! I almost forgot to last week then remembered before the sun set.
Woo-hoo! You are killing it with your health goals!!! Congratulations!
I did a closet purge right at the beginning of the year and had everything bagged up in my trunk. I FINALLY dropped them off at Goodwill last weekend. Baby steps!
Thank you so much!
Ooo that feels so good, right? It’s so funny that I haven’t dropped them off – they are just not near where I regularly go!
Thanks for commenting! I tried to comment on your blog yesterday but could not on my work computer. So thanks for reminding me to today!
I really need to start keeping better track of my spending. I used to be better about it but now I realized I haven’t tracked any spending for the whole month of February. Oops! This is giving me the push I need to do that.
I know you will get right back on track! You have been amazing at it in the past! And note – I am only tracking two things LOL!
Oh, wow! Go you on the health goals. I’ll be interested to hear how eating more slowly is going. I tend to eat some meals quickly and others more slowly. It really varies. And love that you’re hiding your rocks and others’. Spreading even more joy. 🙂
Thank you! It is still a work in progress. Er, as in, there has not been MUCH progress. I am glad you commented so I can really start to focus on it again. Yesterday, I had 10 minutes to eat my salad before a lunch meeting and was shoveling it into my face!!!!
Aww thanks! It’s been fun!
