A few highlights from the weekend!

Thursday

  • Having a super chill evening. I finished You People and watched Someone I Used to Know while painting. Then went upstairs at 8:00 and read and was asleep by 8:45.

Friday

  • Waking up at 4:30 am full of energy! Ha. I fed the cats, prepped produce, and worked out. Then I started shoveling after my workout. We had gotten about 4″ of snow on Thursday.
  • Having a good INR – 2.9. Right in range! (My range is 2.5-3.0) My next appointment is two weeks out. I could have done three weeks out but I will be out of town. I am so glad my INR is stabilizing and my appointments are spread out again.
  • Finishing shoveling. Well, as much as I was going to do. I couldn’t get the snowblower to run and didn’t want to mess with the skid steer loaded so I did a lot by hand.
  • Making Plant Basics tacos for lunch. Plant Basics is Steven’s product and I was making a reel about using them. I was so focused on filming the reel I didn’t think they would taste good (because I wasn’t paying attention to cooking) but they were delish!
  • Getting a postcard from a friend in Germany (whose birthday is February 19 and the package I sent a month early is still not there because it was in the states forever. Ha.).
  • Catching up with Steven on the phone while he drove to the airport in Kansas City to come home.
  • Trying to take a nap (but failing, so I got up).
  • Watching a movie and scrolling my phone and painting. The Popcast did a Cinema Sidepiece on the movie Valentine’s Day so I had to watch it and see how awful it was again.
  • Steven arriving home. And bringing El Famous!
  • Watching a movie (Brian and Charles) and catching up.

Saturday

  • Sleeping in until almost 7:00. That felt so late!
  • Listening to an interesting Ali on the Run podcast episode about someone who did the 7 Marathons in 7 Continents in 7 Days challenge.
  • Seeing the chickens at the farmstand when I returned Steven’s egg carton.
  • Kris giving me some cat shaped pasta. I can’t wait to use it.
  • Walking with Kris. She set a goal to walk 73 miles in February in honor of her mom who turned 73 this month and suffers from Alzheimer’s, and Kris walked her 73rd mile on Saturday! I’m so proud of her and was honored to be with her for mile 73.
  • Clothes shopping with Steven. He needed four things – work pants, a schwacket, shoes, and hiking pants and we went to two stores and the outlet mall and found hiking pants. The search continues.
  • Overhearing a funny conversation about Dale Earnhardt in Kohl. One worker was asking another if they knew who he was and they didn’t! I was kind of surprised then looked up that he died in 2001 so… I guess that was quite some time ago.
  • Getting Starbucks with Steven as a reward to both of us for shopping and being around lots of people. Phew. Shopping is exhausting. We both don’t care for it.
  • Buying some holiday/birthday gifts ahead of time. Yay! This was a goal of mine this year and I have been working on it! I have a few things for a few people!
  • My belt bag arriving from Snis. I told her I liked hers and she sent me one! I am excited to try it instead of my purse.
  • Receiving cards from friends.
  • Receiving a package from Courtney and David. They sent us some EVOO with balsamic to try (yum!), popcorn to make (we did that night – it was delish!), chocolate, cat barrettes, and a cute cat decoration for the house.
  • Chili and cornbread for dinner
  • Painting and watching Eurovision. Ha, that is our go to when we don’t know what else to watch!

Sunday

  • A warm walk at the preserve. And listening to another great Ali on the Run interview.
  • It being warm and sunny enough to use the sun to cure resin.
  • Homemade crunchwraps for lunch.
  • A short walk on the street with Steven. He asked the neighbor if he could take some clippings from their trees to try to propagate and they said yes!
  • Painting and watching Spanglish.
  • Pasta for dinner!
  • Finishing Sea of Tranquility and starting a new book.

Monday

  • Waking up at 6:30 and thinking it was later because the sun was out… but it wasn’t! It’ll be nice to have early mornings for a few weeks until we move to DST on March 12.
  • A longer walk and talking with Dad while I walked. He went to LA with my older brother and his family a couple weekends ago and I wanted to hear all about it!
  • Seeing someone I knew on the trail. I saw Fernando, the person who found one of my rocks there and invited me to teach Veterans to paint. I also got to meet his wife and dogs. It was fun to run into him.
  • Fitting in an unscheduled mani. It was scheduled for Thursday but my nails were starting to lift and Thursday was looking kind of busy and this worked better. The only bummer is I didn’t get to see Lorena since she is off Mondays.
  • Wearing my new belt bag from Snis. I don’t look as cute as her but I like the convenience of it.
  • Starting the show Never Have I Ever and painting.
  • Pasta leftovers and watching The Last of Us.
  • Getting a few chores done around the house before bed.
