A few highlights from the weekend!

Friday

• Receiving my first Fake Meats paycheck. I am doing social media (Instagram), and marketing, and a bit of design work for Fake Meats this year.
• Lunch with Steven. El Famous! Yum! I don’t think we went the week before last! Gasp!
• My INR being in range. Well, close enough? It was 2.4 (they want me between 2.5-3.0). I am off the shots, for now. And they’ve upped my meds. So I hope I stay in range or high. My next appointment is Friday.
• Squeezing in resining a few rocks so I could mail them later in the weekend.
• FaceTime with Jean about her trip to Chicago in March.
• A cute new mani and visiting with Lorena. You can’t tell well from the photo but it’s two-tone light pink and dark pink with white hearts in the middle.
• Pasta for dinner.
• Researching our LA trip. We are going in March for a conference!
• Getting a package ready to mail to Germany for a friend’s birthday.

Saturday

• Sleeping past 7:00 and having a chill morning.
• Receiving a cute bag in the mail from a friend. It says “run all the miles and pet all the cats” on it.
• Going on a walk with Steven. It was snowing and we had the preserve mostly to ourselves!
• Doing errands together.
• Sandwiches for lunch.
• Feeling useful helping Steven fix a Fake Meats marketing brochure in Illustrator.
• All the snow! We ended up getting 6 inches.
• Booking our LA trip. Well, as much as we could.
• Taking a bath.
• Listening to Violent Night and painting.

Sunday

• Walking on the treadmill and doing Insta. It’s not the best habit to be on my phone on the treadmill but it’s really nice to get two things done at once!
• Filming Meet the Makers. This is a recurring reel I do on Instagram where I interview different makers once a week and I took a break from it for most of December and January and I am excited to be back at it (and excited people wnat to participate!).
• Shoveling a path for Snow Jr and him using it. I felt so bad seeing him make a path in the snow Saturday night – the snow was as tall as him! So we made a path around the house (which we have done most years, for the stray cats).
• Pizza with Jen & Troy. It was so nice to see them and catch up and eat delicious pizza!
• Helping Steven with a file he needed edited (but it took many hours, ahh!!!! That was most of the rest of our day and I was spent).

Lowlights

• An accident on the highway by our house. There was a (up-to) 20-car pile-up because of the slick roads. How scary! I was not part of it, but the highway was shut down and all the traffic was routed around our house. No big deal, just sad that that happened.
• Goodr coming out with all these sunglasses I want but don’t need. Ha.
• How expensive it is to ship overseas. The prices at USPS really went up!
• Aldi being dumb. GAH. I was really excited to see the Valentine’s Day Real Littles on sale for $4.49 so I grabbed a bunch to buy and they rang up full price and told me the sale is not effective until 2/15 (which the tag does say, in small print). Why have that tag out weeks early? When I tried to talk to the cashier about it, he had a major attitude.
• An Airbnb we booked not being ANYWHERE near where it was shown on the map (it was 7 miles away). That was frustrating. But we will make it work. I told Airbnb about it and they got on it that night and even called me (on a Saturday). Seems like the owner was catfishing, but maybe it was an error.
• Another Airbnb not accepting our request.
• Working so much both days.
