A few highlights from the weekend!

Friday

  • Having the day off (although, it was quite busy!).
  • Going on a walk.
  • Filming at Fake Meats and having lunch after at Jimmy John’s with Steven. I felt much more “on” for filming on Friday (when I tried on Monday, I was out of it and couldn’t get into the right mood). And my sandwich was so good!
  • Discussing an upcoming giveaway with my paint pen sponsor.
  • Painting and watching TV. I finished the latest season of Firefly Lane and watched one episode of Wednesday. I’m not sure Wednesday is for me but I will watch one more episode.
  • Making cookies after dinner. And having self control and not eating them all. Go me!

Saturday

  • Breakfast sandwiches.
  • Finishing up the prompt list rock for a painting challenge I am hosting in February with friends.
  • Going on a walk with Steven.
  • Running errands with Steven. It’s more fun when we go together.
  • Opening rock gifts from a friend.
  • Having lunch together (at home) then installing the heater in Dragonstone I got him for his birthday. We haven’t insulated yet, so we can’t set up the radiant floor heating yet, so the only heat has been standalone space heaters. This will make it a bit warmer in the winter!
  • Getting a few rocks resined.
  • Taking a bath.
  • Making enchiladas for dinner. They were delish!
  • Setting up the Roborock – a robot vacuum that was our Christmas gift for each other. Ha, I was NOT expecting the cats to be so intrigued! It was hilarious – they followed it all around while it mapped the rooms and watched it clean. The vacuum works great so far and we’re excited we got it!

Sunday

  • Sleeping in until 7:20.
  • Finishing getting the robot vacuum set up.
  • Going on a walk in the snow.
  • Painting at lunch.
  • Prepping a late Christmas gift, birthday gifts, and Valentine’s Day gifts to mail. Phew. I will update how much I spent on shipping in a recap of my 2023 goals on (or around) February 1 (I will do monthly check-ins). Three of these are going overseas so they will be expensive.
  • Trying out the UV resin station Steven set up for me. He has 3 reptile ramps let up for me to cure rocks under. It works great BUT makes the rocks very warm so when I do the other side the resin is not viscous enough and it drips more than I can control. Lesson learned – I need to let them cool before I do the other side. It’s awesome they cure so fast under the lamps (about 4 mins per side)!
  • Pasta for dinner.

Lowlights

  • Waking up at 6:00 am on Saturday. Blah. We both really wanted to sleep in, but were both wide awake at 6:00!
  • Being a bit out of it Sunday. I started to feel physically tired and could not focus at the end of the day. It took me way too long to prep those gifts and I kept making mistakes while resining and then when helping with dinner.
