- Steven has been so busy working at the new warehouse and getting everything set up and going. He’s there most of the workday now, which is new for us – we’ve worked from home together for years. This new schedule is resulting in both of us eating less – him because he is on the go at work and too busy to eat, and me because instead of making lunch during my lunch break, I am painting then having a bit of leftovers and going back to work. I wonder if we’ll stick with this new routine!
- Speaking of lunch break, on my lunch break yesterday, I did my first Instagram Live! I showed people how to paint a Purrito, a Tacocat, and a Gucatmole. If you have any interest in watching (it’s 50 mins, eek!) it’s here. I had fun and learned a lot – like if I am going to respond to people’s comments verbally, I need to read what they said, because the comments don’t come through with the recording. I could also work on my lighting and actually prep but I’m kind of a fly by the seat of my pants gal when it comes to stuff like this.
- Ha, I have had two instances lately where I’ve overshared with Starbucks employees about Instagram. A few weeks ago I was getting a chai in the am and the barista asked what my plans were for the day and I said “to make some Instagram Reels.” Ha. I wish I could describe the expression I got back. It wasn’t an eyeroll or disgust or laughter or even a “really?!” but a combo of those. Then yesterday we got Starbucks at the outlet mall by our house (sadly, it’s the closest Starbucks) and the barista asked if I was spending the day shopping and I said, “no, working,” and they asked how my work day was and I had to say how excited I was to do my first Live on my lunch break. They were like “wow, that’s cool!” Ha ha ha ha. Get a life, Kim.
- I also ordered business cards, designed by my friend Jacquie, for Kim Hides the Rocks. Sometimes people order something as a gift for someone else, so I wanted these to add in those packages so they know what the heck Kim Hides the Rocks is.
I actually went with rounded edges cause #fancy
- Did anyone else watchย Mare of Easttown? We both thought it was really good!
Such an Instagram influencer you are! ๐ I love how much you love making Reels!
I have Mare of Easttown on my TBW list. Who knows when I’ll get around to it, haha.
Thanks! I am so surprised I like it so much!
LOL! It’s really good if you ever do! ๐ There is a little bit of graphic stuff, FYI.
I love your new cards!! SO official. I just noticed your little pic on the back ( even though you’ve shown me them twice now, sorry) so cute!!!
Thanks! Jacquie did such a great job – she rocks! And thanks re the pic! Thought it would be fun to show people my mug ๐
The business cards are awesome! I keep meaning to ask – do you put the origin of the painting on the back, too? Or, perhaps it’s better to say your inspiration? Just curious. ๐
I’m super-curious, too, to see if your new patterns of working stick. I would find it so hard to go from FT at home to FT in a warehouse, but maybe Steven needed a change? It’s interesting how quickly our routines adapt, isn’t it?
Thanks! Are you asking if I put where the image I painted came from on the back of the rock? I don’t – I just put the info on what to do with it if you find it. I put the inspo info on here and on Instagram when I post it though. Most of my commissions are based off of images people send me. ๐
Yeah, we are still doing that same routine! I did manage to make a salad twice to eat this week though. Today I ate a leftover taco at my desk and used my lunch break to film a Reel. LOL!
