Notes:
- In case you missed it, I went over what the sports med doc said about my knee here. Basically, my knee seems fine, but I should rest from running until it doesn’t give me pain (which was definitely my plan).
- The sports med doc said I could go on fitness walks if it didn’t bother my knee. I went on a 2 mile walk with Steven and my knee was in a bit of pain during it and a lot after. I got home and canceled my two social walks for the week and felt sorry for myself. Ha.
- I needed to get new shorts for running/walking (ha! not anymore!) and replaced them with the similar version from Target this year (link here). I like them – they’re high-waisted, don’t ride up, and have pockets on each side, but this year, the pockets are a V shape instead of a square like last year, so not as much storage space.
- I think I forgot to mention I dropped of my road bike for a tune-up last week? I used to take it to a place the studio I worked at had ties to, but I don’t work there anymore, and while I liked the shop, I don’t like driving to the town it’s in, so I took in to my local shop. I should get it back this week!
- After I found out I couldn’t walk without pain I went all in on my bike and ended up cycling 85 miles this week. My knee only bothers me when I bike if I push off it it weird on the left side. So I’m careful. I’m enjoying cycling but hope my knee is better soon!
Man, that stinks about running and walking. I hope – since I’m still behind – that you’re improving and / or back to it now!
I’m currently off of running due to some of my chronic issues popping up. Sigh. The run envy is real. But so is the risk of injury, so… yeah. All of that to say, I get it. Hang in there.
It’s getting better, thanks! I am sorry to hear it’s not for you. I have total run envy when I see anyone running. Sigh.
