A few highlights from the weekend!
Thursday
- Getting a massage. Wow, I really needed it. I scheduled my next one for June!
- Walking after my massage and running into a friend at the preserve I haven’t seen in a few years. We had a nice time catching up. And I caught nostalgic feels for when I use to live over there and run in that places with that crew. What is with me lately?
- Trying a new restaurant (City Works) with Steven for dinner. The food was really good and they had quite a few vegetarian and vegan options, yay!
Friday
- Seeing an amazing sunrise.
- Lying in bed watching Reels.
- Breakfast sandwiches.
- A hot run followed by a cold chai.
- Finding a rock on my run. That was 7 days in a row of finding one during my workout! (And I found one Saturday and Sunday too, so I am up to 9 days!)
- Putting ribbon in the wreath Mom made and hanging it up. Ha, my handiwork doesn’t look that great, but whatever.
- Everything about going to Sip & Purr Cat Café with Rachel. First, the owner and employees were so excited about my rock donation and fawned over all of them and made me feel so good! I was on such a high! Then the time in the cat lounge was amazing. Petting and playing with chill cats (+ 3 kittens?!) for an hour?! Amazing. I felt a bit overstimulated by how fabulous it was. Oh, and I had a latte and I don’t drink coffee so there’s that (but it tasted good!).
- Buying a bunch of fun Sip & Purr merchandise.
- Trying Dead Bird Brewery (a strange name for a vegan brewery!) with Rachel. We ordered drinks and apps and sat on the patio and had such a fulfilling conversation. I really enjoyed our time together and felt so happy during our date and on my way home. And until I went to bed and the alcohol hit my stomach. Ha.
- Talking to Mom on the drive home.
- Playing with the cats with the new toys I got them at Sip & Purr.
- Getting a rock order/commission from my second cousin.
Saturday
- My new Shitterfly notebook arriving. And $1 Shitterfly magnets! I had my order ready to go!
- A walk with Bobbi.
- Working on painting some oars for Gina.
- A lazy afternoon with Steven (watching a bad movie – Friends with Kids, womp).
- A nap with the cats.
- A yummy dinner – herby pasta, broccoli, and vegan “steak.” And we watched another bad movie – Those Who Wish Me Dead.
Sunday
- Getting a longer run in.
- Mom calling me to tell me my favorite candle scent (Warm Apple Pie, aka WAP) is in stock at Bath & Body Works! I thought they only sold it in the fall but they branded it for summer. Yay!
- Getting a lot of weeding done. I actually enjoy weeding… even though the weeds grow back in the next week.
- An Instagram friend receiving the rock I painted of her cats and really loving it.
- Successfully painting the rock commission – it was for dogs, which I don’t paint often!
Lowlights
- Horrible idiotic traffic Thursday night. I went with Steven to pick his car back up from servicing during rush hour, and cones were being put up forcing five lines right before a highway split into two lanes. Just… what the heck.
- My Stich Fix being a bust.
- Getting paint on my new Sip & Purr shirt the first day I wore it. I’ve never gotten paint on my clothes before! Oops!
- Receiving another Shitterfly package, but having it be empty. Oops! They will resend the item.
- Accidentally seeing a horrific animal abuse story Sunday night right before bed that made me feel extremely upset.
I love how many highlights you had on Friday! Wahoo! I’m glad you had such a fun friend-date. Those are the best. 🙂 And petting KITTENS?!?! Ahhh. Now I just want to go back to our cat cafe for some cat-petting fun, even though it just makes me want to bring home another cat!
Friday was such a good day!!!! AHH!!!!!! I can’t wait to see Rachel again.
You def have to go back!!!! (It made me feel that way too. There was this gray cat there that had just had the kittens that was so sweet! I think she got adopted yesterday! The cats get adopted out of there so fast!)
Sounds like you had a pretty good weekend – minus the lowlights. (I’ll never get how someone can abuse animals.)
I did, yeah, until that. I can’t even let my mind go there. It makes no sense.
I am super-curious about the vegan “steak”. Was this something that Steven sells through his company? Is there a story behind the name of the vegan brewery? ’cause that’s really, really weird. Ha.
Yeah, it was a fake meats he sells! Let me know if you want the link! It was so so on its own but good with the pasta.
Gah, so I guess it’s because it was full of either dead birds or birds they had to kill (wtf?) when they bought it? That is what I heard and I did NOT want to google the whole story because it sounded gross!
