- Does anyone else get weather FOMO (fear of missing out)? I don’t get FOMO for social events, but I sure do when it’s a beautiful day and I am not spending part of it outside (probably because truly beautiful days are somewhat few and far between here).
- Ha, I caught myself saying “vibe,” seriously, on a few work calls last week. Eek.
- We were gone for a few days and our mug shelves are still intact. Yay!
- This shirt my snis gave me is just Midwest perfection!
Yes, to weather FOMO – I feel guilty if I don’t take advantage of a nice day!
Your shirt is cute but…what does it mean? π
Exactly!
“Ope” is something people say in the midwest instead of “oops” or “my bad.” Here is a link that explains it – https://slangit.com/meaning/ope#:~:text=Ope%20is%20an%20expression%20of,Oops%2C%20Whoops%2C%20or%20Whoa.
Thanks for the link explaining “ope” – I guess I have been out of the Midwest for too long now to be up on the current slang, ha ha!
Huh, I never noticed Starbuck (I hope I got this right!) has tufts on her ears, like a little lynx. I must have missed it before.
I often get weather FOMO even though we have so many nice days. I am relieved when we have a rainy day so I can stay in without guilt.
You got her name right! And yeah, she is very proud of her tufts. Our vet told us those are coming back… but didn’t say why. Ha.
YES! I like bad weather for that reason too!
Oh yes! I definitely get weather FOMO. “It’s so beautiful out! I should go to the pool!” or “I should definitely sit outside and read today.” Especially right now, when it’s sunny AND not miserably hot so being outside actually feels really good.
I’m glad you explained what ope means to the other commenter. I was going to ask! haha.
I am glad it’s not just me! I have to legit self talk and tell myself there will be other nice days!
Ha! Too funny that it’s so midwestern. I totally use it!
You know the cats are just lulling you into complacency with the mug shelves, right? Next time you go away… watch out. π
Also, I’ve been in the midwest for nearly 16 years now and honest to Pete I’ve never heard of “Ope”! So it’s not just the non-Midwesterners who are clueless… it’s the naturalized Midwesterners too! I’ll check out the link…
Gah, I hope not! Just in case I’ve been putting the replaceable ones on the ends (ones where we know people who live there whom I could ask to go get me a new one LOL).
Wait. Whut. How is that possible? I say it like 20x a day. Ha.
I am just like that… stuck inside when it’s a nice day outside. FOMO for me.
Same here! It’s been 80 all day and I am working… but off in 12 mins and going on a walk. Hope you can get outside too!
Cold and snowy today here in SLC. But I spent a lot of time outside from Friday to Sunday when the temps were in the high 70’s
