- I had pączkis for the first time this week! We picked up vegan ones in Milwaukee. It’s kind of nuts I’ve lived here almost 14 years and had never had one before. They were delicious! Then we got more vegan takeout food and I ate WAY too much and felt sick all night. Oops.
- We refinanced our house last week and I had to sign my maiden name a bunch of different ways on one sheet and it totally threw me off. I really had to concentrate on each signature.
- We rescheduled our dentist appointment this week because it was during a snow storm and now we can’t go until April. Cry! I love having my teeth cleaned. But I don’t love driving during a snow storm.
- I’ve been having trouble going down stairs for a few months. Like a proprioception thing, not a muscle thing. It’s like my legs can’t always remember the depth of the steps and I start to feel like I am going to fall (I haven’t yet). Super strange. I wonder if that is some sort of inner ear problem. I also can’t always hear very well… probably not related…
- Has anyone had an issue on Instagram where certain accounts seem to be flagged and you can’t respond to their comments in your posts?

Don’t feel bad about not having had paczkis before – I grew up in an EXTREMELY Polish city and never had them until recently. Just about every bakery and market here makes them. We bought some a couple weeks ago and… I mean… they’re just really rich jelly donuts, right?
Hmm…. the stair thing could also be neurological based on what you’ve described. Maybe mention it the next time you see your primary doc?

I second Anne’s comment – go see a doc about the depth perception issue! I don’t mean to be alarmist but I write way too many articles about scary medical stuff and it’s ALWAYS good to get stuff like that checked out early. Better safe than sorry!
I have my first dentist appointment in a year on Thursday! (Oops.) I was on a strict January/July dentist schedule but then everything got messed up with the pandemic and it took me forever to find a new dentist (my old dentist was located by my office, but that’s now a 45-minute drive from home, which I am not gonna do, lol). I’m excited for the end result of having my teeth cleaned but not excited for the actual appointment, lol.
Yeah, and I have a few other things I need checked out too, so I should probably see a general doctor soon!
I am glad you found a new dentist and hope that you like them! 45 mins is way too far of a drive – is this place a lot closer? And it’s gonna feel so nice to have sparkly clean teeth!
Oh, Paczkis look like German “Berliner (Pancakes)” and my Google search just confirmed. They’re staples at every bakery and you can get them year-round, but they’re especially eaten around carnival (before Lent).
I haven’t had one for ages!
