- Our new freezer arrived Monday, the same day as a huge Foxship Bakery order (we got some of their new brownies to try, along with a bunch of cookies!)! Perfect timing, as those items were going right into the freezer! (Why another freezer? The freezer that’s part of our fridge is smöl, and I’d like to keep extra items in stock, and have room for homemade frozen meals, etc, and now we have space for that!)
And now I have more surface for my magnets!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
- I started painting some rocks to hide. It’s a lot of work (lots of steps!), but I’m enjoying it, and learning a lot (er, when was the last time you mixed colors?)! I’m excited to see them get better as I paint more (and get better tools – my paint pens should arrive tomorrow!).
So VERY MANY lessons learned on this first batch, like, don’t use gloss sealant on a rock you’re relying on the background to show up on. Derp. That poor snowman and his tossed hat! Here’s what he looked liked (below) before I sprayed him. I even practiced on my ugly rocks without painted backgrounds to see how it looked and STILL made this mistake.
My favorite is the cat. This snowman was second until I ruined him. Ha!
- Lack of planning (on my end) meant we didn’t have a pumpkin pie on Thanksgiving. THE HORROR! I bought a crust this weekend so I could make it Monday and, meh, I LOVE pumpkin pie but not the vegan recipe I have for it! I need to find a new one!
- We started watching The Queen’s Gambit and are enjoying it! I’m also hearing lots of buzz about The Undoing and The Flight Attendant. Has anyone watched those?
- For a Christmas present I bought myself a VIP ticket to a virtual Ali on the Run live show with Shalane Flanagan, Des Linden, and Aisha Praught Leer on December 17th. The VIP ticket includes a bunch of goodies (from the sponsors in the image below), but also includes 15 mins after the call where a small group gets to ask those ladies questions! I’m so excited! What would you ask?
Which freezer did you get? I am also interested in getting one. I almost bought one from Best Buy but then found out it was available for delivery to my house.
I would ask them what race they would like to do once it is OK to race again. Ha, maybe their answer will be any race since at this point we just want to race. 🙂

You are so smart to get the upright freezer. We have a chest freezer and I spent so much time digging through to find stuff. I hate it! Also yeah for tickets to Ali on the Run- I am considering getting tickets too- such a great panel.
That was part of our decision, and also, chest freezers apparently don’t auto defrost?! So nice to still have it though, right?

I am a couple episodes into the Queen’s Gambit and really enjoying it! We currently don’t have HBO/Max so I’m not up on anything there. After my Ted Lasso binge, it’s been hard to find something as good. Well there’s not anything as good, except for Schitt’s Creek, but I guess I mean nearly as good?

Everyone raves about Ted Lasso! Dang I need to find a way to watch it. And I know what you mean. One of the podcasts I listen to about pop culture came up with a funny reviewing system called “Distracted Radishes” where they rate things based on how much time they spend not watching it, playing on their phone. I want shows that are in the 90th percentile and most aren’t 😉

We finished “The Undoing” last weekend. I enjoyed it because I love murders and mysteries, as you know. It you liked “Big Little Lies”, you’ll probably find it entertaining enough. Plus, all the acting is quite good!
I can’t believe how out of the loop I was on these rocks. I love all of the ones you made. They look so cute and whimsical. I’m excited to see what you paint next. (Raw potatoes?)
