• It’s getting cold enough that Starbuck will sometimes sit on my lap on the couch for a bit! This is a big deal to us. Even though all three cats sleep on me at night, they never sit on our laps, except sometimes, Starbuck. Data was such a lap cat. All you had to do was sit down and put a blanket on your lap and he was there. Sometimes he’d be sitting on Steven’s lap in the couch and I’d sit down next to them and get the blanket out and he’d come right over. Muah ha ha.

  • I ordered the cats a new toy for Christmas along with my face masks but I caved and gave it to them right away. Ha. I’ll have to try again, closer to the holiday.

  • Speaking of Christmas, I know what we’ll be doing that day – watching Wonder Woman 1984 on HBO Max… either streaming from our phone or computer since we can’t use our Roku. Sigh, but yay for it coming to streaming! It was one of the movies I really wanted to see in theaters this year. We’re still considering renting an entire theater and doing a private screening for Steven’s milestone birthday in 2020, but at this (COVID-19 positivity) rate, it would just be us two there.
  • I miss new movies so much. Redbox sent me a streaming discount yesterday and I was like, “let’s just watch something NEW!” So we watched Bill & Ted Face the Music. Not amazing, but it definitely made me laugh. (What’s making me laugh even more this week? Borat Subsequent Moviefilm. My gosh, it’s so ridiculous.)
  • We weren’t even sure we’d be able to stream a movie. We’ve been trying several internet providers, and have updated all our equipment, and look at the towers with the best signals to point to, but our internet is still mostly unreliable. I really appreciate Steven working so hard to get it to somewhat work!
  • I had an important meeting Monday and I said to Steven how I hoped the internet wouldn’t cut out during it, and of course, it did. I got on my work phone (which barely works out here but that’s a complaint for another day) and realized you could see more of me on it – meaning you could see I had a nice jacket and blouse on but was wearing jeans. Ha. Oh well. At the end of the call we all joked about my bad internet (we don’t have cable available here so we point an antenna toward a tower). At least people are super understanding! It worked great here for years, until COVID-times.
  • And speaking of COVID-times… it looks like Illinois is closing a bunch of things again… maybe? I haven’t paid as close of attention as before since I leave the house to run, get groceries/prescription, stop at Starbucks, pick up takeout, and get my nails done. I think it will affect going in to Starbucks, and getting my nails done. I am still vigilant about wearing my mask, and don’t quite have COVID-fatigue, but we never started socializing again, or going out to eat or anything, so not much is changing for us.
