- I ordered another Dailypurrr sketch. Can’t stop, won’t stop! The artist featured this image on Patreon the same day he sent it to me. I was pretty honored – he’s never featured our cats on Patreon before!

- I went to Target yesterday to pick up a prescription and was surprised to see all the holiday stuff out – both for sale and decorating the store. The recent warm weather confused me about what time of year it was, and that Christmas is just around the corner. I love seeing decorations, and hearing holiday music, and other people being excited about Christmas… but I am not, personally. I don’t feel like decorating our house, or planning if we’ll actually see anyone, or thinking about what gifts to buy for people (even though I’ve bought a few). I’m just not in the mood yet… or maybe this year. And that’s okay.
- Our work announced that we’ll be able to buy company branded polos, sweatshirts, and hoodies soon, and I am oddly excited about this. Probably because it’s one step closer to having a work uniform and not having to think about what to wear!
- Speaking of work, because of where I work, I am basically prohibited from posting political stuff anywhere. So I don’t. It’s become so second nature to me not to, that until it was brought up at work this week, I didn’t think about the fact of why.

I feel the same way about Christmas, and I’m usually so excited about it! But this year has just been so hard and weird, and it’s difficult to get excited about it. Maybe I just need to put up my Christmas stuff and that will get me in the mood.
Gosh, it would be so hard for me to be silent about political stuff! I guess I would be able to do it if I had to, but there’s something so cathartic in discussing it online (especially with the turmoil that the past four years have been).
Exactly! I bet decorations WOULD help (both of us). I did order some holiday themed face masks, and that got me excited. LOL.
It’s so ingrained in me now that I just discuss offline, but it would be nice to just let it out and connect with people!
While I’ve started my online Christmas shopping, it’s because so many items are shipping to other states – it does feel early this year, for sure. That said, I’m not going crazy with the number of things that I’m giving…it’s just a weird year. Maybe that’s also because I’m not walking into stores and seeing stuff that I otherwise might not have thought about buying? The hardest will be stocking stuffers…I usually rely on the impulse store purchases for those, so it’s going to be interesting to see what everyone ends up with, LOL.
Yay for casual, approved, work-wear! Maybe they realized that working from home IS a more casual environment and are embracing that?
I saw one site that said if you wanted stuff to arrive on time, to get it in Oct! That seemed SO early! But it does make sense to order things earlier, especially if you are shipping them out yourself! Right now, in my mind, I will see people in 2021 for Christmas and buy their gifts then. LOL. Oh man, you usually love the stocking stuffers. That’s really tough. It’s hard to impulse buy online. You will have to go to the “other people also bought” section 😉
I think so! And I think it helps morale and increases workplace pride when we are wearing our branded stuff at home! It will for me anyway. I miss my coworkers.
I legitimately forgot it was November for a good portion of last week. We walked to get ice cream on our last night in our apartment on Sunday, and I was in shorts and a t-shirt! I honestly thought it was summer, because I was all ready to move, I’ve only ever moved during the summer, I was dressed like it was summer, and we were getting ice cream. I’m sure we’ll decorate the house–assuming we’re unpacked enough by Christmas to decorate, ha–since it’ll be our first year here. Honestly, decorating feels more “worth it” this year because we’re not going anywhere or seeing anyone for Thanksgiving or Christmas. Typically we go to Michigan for Christmas, but not this year – so we’ll actually be able to enjoy our decorations on the holiday rather than just in the weeks before/after Christmas. But it’s going to be a weird holiday season, that’s for sure.
Ha, we just need you to move in the winter when we want warm weather! How did the move go?! I can’t wait to hear about the new place.
We only decorate when we have people come here, so every two years, so I totally get that. It will be so fun to decorate and enjoy it, and start to figure out the perfect spot for everything in your new house!!!
I can’t believe it’s almost Christmas!
Me either. I still have not been thinking much about it since we won’t see anyone or ship gifts… oops?!
Ah, I didn’t realize that regulation about your work! Did they have to mention it to crack down on posts? (It seems like a harder time to adhere to that since feelings are so intense about politics.)
I do feel like the holidays have really snuck up on me too this year. I went to the pharmacy the other day and was also surprised to see the decorations already!
Yeah, I think they mentioned it as a warning since our company has been in the news a lot.
That is how I felt! It was a good surprise but also made me feel a bit panicky. Are you mailing gifts ahead of time?
