A few highlights from the weekend!
Friday
- Waking up to a thunderstorm.
- Steven making breakfast sandwiches.
- Spending the morning reading in bed.
- Napping with the cats.
- Mom sending me and Snis cute pics of us as kids.
- My Kohl’s order arriving with everything in it (that’s 2 for 4 with packages having everything in them this week).
- Listening to podcasts on a walk.
- Getting a chai with a pump of raspberry syrup.
- Taking a bath and watching idiotic cat videos.
- Getting vegan Mexican food from Mom Corn.
Saturday
- Sleeping in.
- Checking my work email and seeing a good email.
- Getting the frieze boards and vent installed over the new brick on Dragonstone.
- Facetiming with my snis while at Hobob Lob to decide which frames to get for some Iowa prints I ordered.
- A phone call with Mom.
- Installing the frames with prints in the guest bedroom.
- Watching a spooky movie (The Others) with Steven.
- Being snarky on a three-way call with Mom and Snis.
Sunday
- Seeing that our mail-in ballots were picked up and are being reviewed by Election Judges. We dropped them off last Sunday and in my head they were going to be picked up the next day… but I don’t think they were! I’m glad they were received.
- Pancakes for breakfast.
- Receiving socks in the mail from my second cousin Denise.
- My latest dailypurrr cat sketch order arriving in my inbox. Their happy eyes and tongues in the drawing makes me laugh so much.
- Getting an email that our Menards special siding order is in. For some weird reason Mica is getting the emails about this special order. Thanks for keeping us in the loop, Mica!
- Reading a bit on the couch.
- Making a fun dinner with Steven – vegan ham and pineapple with dressing.
Lowlights
- My favorite “make me laugh until I cry” video being removed from Instagram. I save funny videos to favorites in Instagram and look at them when I want to laugh or need a pick-me-up. On Friday morning I was looking for my current fave and it was gone – CRY! Luckily I found an almost exact copy on YouTube.
- Apollo being a little sh*thead when I was trying to sleep. Sigh. I am not excited to go off DST next week… he’ll probably start his antics at the same time… which will feel like an hour earlier.
That thunderstorm on Friday morning was nuts! It made the wifi in my house grumpy for a bit, which was a bit stressful, since I had a meeting that started at 9:00. Fortunately it got its act together by then!
Your kitties look so much happier in this this dailypurrr than the last one! Though the last one was really funny, haha.
Ugh! I am happy it did! We’ve been struggling with our internet for a few months and it’s been super frustrating. People are more understanding about it, but it still makes you feel bad/guilty!
Right? LOL. I have so many I want to be drawn dailypurrr style!
I am starting to carve out time in my schedule to nap with my cats. Few things seem more appealing to me right now!
Yes! It’s the best! Especially as it gets colder out!
Sounds like a really relaxing weekend… and I must say, being at home so much, I really wish we had a kitty.

I’d ordered a couple of Fiestaware items from Kohl’s a while back and they were shipped separately. One was bubble wrapped and one – I kid you not – was put into a box and shipped. No padding, nothing. I didn’t even open it when it arrived as I could hear the brokenness of it; just walked it into the return department and gave it to the clerk. I think Kohl’s just has issues with online orders so it’s good that you’ve gotten some of your stuff. But is it too much to ask for everything that you order?? Sheesh.
Oh my gosh! Who the heck thought that was a good idea?! And it was probably in a huge box?! Did you get it replaced?
And I was confusing – Kohl’s was actually the place that sent me everything (and all at once, which is unusual)! Chewy and a small print company in Iowa are the ones who didn’t!
They replaced it but how dumb, right?
Yeah, it really is. Just a waste of a lot of time and resources 🙁

I kinda find it crazy that your ballots weren’t picked up for a week! I would assume they would be picked up much sooner, but what do I know?! I mailed in my ballot and it was accepted and processed within a week!

Too funny you said that – she posted it on her Insta and everyone was saying that to her too! I have a hard time seeing family resemblances in my own family, but people say we all look very alike… which makes sense, LOL.
Me too! I was getting worried! Another friend in my county posted that hers was now marked as good and accepted/counted so I hope I see that on mine soon.

I love “The Others.” It is so good and spooky and not gruesome or too scary.
