- I did not win $20,000! Darn! Ha. It was fun to play along and imagine winning. Of course, I had nightmares about it all night before the drawing. Silly brain.
- I did a practice mock interview at work last week, and it’s pretty impressive how even a fake interview can make me feel so anxious. I got a lot of good feedback though. Hopefully I do better the next time I have an interview at work.
- The weather is looking so good for installing siding this weekend. Yay! I clearly remember how horrible the weather was last year around this time (so cold and so much snow!) and I’m grateful it’ll be so warm.
- I am usually pro “let’s just stay on DST year round” but it’s so nice to be waking up with the sun again (for a week or two) now that we’re off DST. I haven’t set an alarm since I started working at home 100% of the time in March (well, that’s a lie, I set alarms to listen to The Drive contest) and don’t want to.
- I realized this week that I can add “incorrect DST memes” to my list of things I will die on a hill arguing about (also on the list “it’s the dew point, not the humidity”).
- We didn’t really care for the final season of The Good Place. Womp. It seemed so all over the place. I wonder if we would have liked it better had we watched all four seasons together. Now we’re rewatching season 1 of The Boys to get ready to watch season 2.

I loved how the Good Place wrapped up! Sorry you were disappointed with it…
Yay for great weather!!! Good luck with your siding!
They def tied everything up with a nice bow in the last two episodes! But I was like, why did we spend most of this season without Chidi and Eleanor together, just to have that undone to have him help figure out what to do? I was annoyed I couldn’t remember what was going on (but that is my fault – I did not watch a recap or rewatch 1-3 before).
Thanks!
Awww…sorry you didn’t win the money! 🙁
Thanks! Maybe next time?!
Aw man! Bummer about the $20,000! Too bad luck isn’t genetic 🙁
This weather is something else! We’re moving on Monday (!) and right now the forecast is calling for a high of 75 (!!). I never dreamed we’d have weather like that for a move in November! That’s basically the same kind of weather I’ve had the times I’ve moved in June and July, haha. Maybe it’s something about me moving…? Ha. I’m extra glad for it this time, though, because this will mean we can open up all the windows in the apartment and the house, which will alleviate a little of my COVID-related anxiety about exposure via the movers. They’ll all be in masks and so will we, but getting as much airflow through the house as possible doesn’t seem like it will hurt the situation at all.
I’m normally very anti-fall back, too, but I’ve found that I don’t care quite as much this year. Even though I’m still working during basically all of the daylight hours, it’s nice to already be home when the work day ends, rather than watching the sun go down as I commute home. Makes it easier to catch the last bit of daylight for an afternoon run, too – at least for now!
I know right?! Sigh.
It must be something about you guys moving, so thanks for the warm temps! That is actually too warm to move, but not if you are using movers 😉 I am glad you’ll be able to open up the windows and air both places out!
Yes! That is such a perk of working at home during this time of year! I can remember how sad it was to be walking to the train after work in the dark to go home. Ha.
I still hate how early it gets dark, but I do love waking up with the sun! It’s really nice!
I’m halfway done with the finale of The Good Place, but it was making me emotional so I had to stop. (Mostly the whole death thing. It’s a trigger for my anxiety.) But I enjoyed it! I liked it better than previous seasons, at least.
Okay, I need to know about this dew point vs humidity debate. Am I saying it wrong???
It’s crazy how early the sun is setting! It was before 4:40 last night for us, and we were all so pooped from installing siding all day, we ate around 5:30 and I think we could have gone to bed at 6:00!
Oh yeah, this season would be a major trigger then! I really think I would have liked it better had I watched them all in a row. I liked that each season was different, but definitely had my favorites. I think I was just upset that Eleanor had to pretend she wasn’t in love with Chidi.
Hee hee, the dew point vs humidity thing is me being a huge brat. I think what people miss is that dew point is an absolute measure and humidity is relative. The dew point (in degrees) is the temperature at which it has to be for the air to be 100% saturated. So, a high dew point is bad because that means the air is fully saturated at a higher temperature, and we are uncomfortable AF because there is so much moisture in the air and our skin cannot evaporate sweat as well. Humidity is actually relative humidity, and it’s a percentage of saturation at any given temperature. So the humidity changes as the temperature changes, and as air is heated, it can hold more moisture. According to this article (https://www.chicagotribune.com/weather/ct-wea-0907-asktom-20160906-column.html) “If air is at 100 percent relative humidity at 60 degrees but is heated to 93 degrees, its relative humidity decreases to about 33 percent. Its dew point remains at 60 degrees.” So, it’s 93 out, but you feel uncomfortable AF because the air can hold so much more moisture, and the dew point is at 60. Someone might say, “Ugh, it’s so humid” but actually, it’s only 33%. It’s the dew point that’s making you feel horrible. In theory, if you had a lower dew point, there would be less moisture in the air, and you might feel more comfortable at 93 degrees (maybe in the shade with a lemonade?!). I don’t really look at humidity when I am looking at weather to see how comfortable I will feel outside – I look at dew point. Here is a chart that shows how runners feel in different dew point levels – https://i1.wp.com/www.runningwife.com/wp-content/uploads/2016/07/Dew-Point-Table.jpg?w=600 – I think the “perception” applies to whether you are running or not!
