Notes:

  • I took extra running days off the first week because my knee didn’t feel like it was tracking right when I got out of bed or got up from a chair/the couch. I ran that Thursday and it felt fine, then took more days off due to our travel schedule and it felt almost normal. Then when I ran Tuesday it locked up for most of the run and really messed up my gait so… more days off! It felt good enough to walk Saturday and Sunday, and is locking up less. I will probably take more time off this week (focus on strength and walking), but I really miss running, even a short slow run!
  • Mines of Spain Recreational Area in Dubuque was amazing! I couldn’t believe we were seeing those bluffs in Iowa, even though I know it’s like that by the Mississippi River. I felt like we were on a movie set. I can’t wait to go back and see more of the trails there, hopefully with Gina!
  • Steven and I went on a walk in preserve I’d never been in on Sunday and it was gorgeous – mostly wooded with lots of fall colors, but some groups of conifer trees too. I really love our county preserves and how well maintained they are.
