A few highlights from the weekend!
Friday
- Staring my day with some running miles after taking most of the week off.
- Technology coming through at work.
- Steven bringing me home an iced chai.
- Remembering, again, I can take ibuprofen for soreness.
- Getting an email that I am eligible for the supervisory position I applied for!!! Next step: interview.
- Making more cookies for the river trip.
- Celebrating my work email with eating a plate of fried food for dinner (that obviously made me feel super blah later).
Saturday
- Getting the house super clean. (Related lowlight – reaching a breaking point after cleaning for seven hours.)
- Taking a cool bath.
- Starbuck lying with me on the couch. None of our cats are lap cats so this was a rare occurrence!
Sunday
- The cats helping me clean. They were getting under the bedsheets and it made me reminisce about Data. It was so funny how he’d get on his back and stick all his paws up in the air under the blanket for us to “pat” them.
- Seeing Lorena and getting my nails done. I was so happy to talk to her and see how she’s doing, and to treat myself – I haven’t had my nails done since early March! Ha, apparently I really like the few colors I bought during our stay-at-home order – I ended up picking one of those! Facepalm! I picked a new one when I realized – it’s time for a different color.
- Catching up with Mom on the phone.
- Pasta Alfredo for dinner.
Yay!! So glad to hear you’re eligible for the position!! Do you know when the interview will be – like next week, or will it be more like next month? I really hope everything goes well for you!
SEVEN HOURS of cleaning. Phew. I’m extremely impressed! I can usually do, like, one, and even that I can barely manage to convince myself to do once a month. Every weekend I think, “THIS will be the weekend I vacuum and clean the bathrooms and Swiffer the hard floors!” and every weekend Sunday rolls around and I think, “….NEXT WEEKEND will be the weekend I do all those things!” Ha. I used to think I didn’t clean because I didn’t have time. Now I know that I don’t clean because I don’t want to, haha 😛
Thank you! I have no idea! People who have done it say soon after you get the email, but the email also said within the next 90 days. Ha.
Thanks. It was tiring but I had to move a lot of stuff around to deep clean so that is why it took so long! I am usually like that too, hence doing it all this weekend. Ha ha ha. It’s overrated. We just have guests coming is all 😉
Isn’t it just awful when our bodies remind us that we shouldn’t be eating shitty food? (Not sure if your food was shitty, but my body is always like, “Oh, hey, remember that greasy pizza you just ate? HERE’S WHY YOU SHOULDN’T HAVE DONE THAT.”) Thanks, body.
I once did one of those marathon cleaning days and I remembered why I like breaking it up by doing a little each day. I just don’t have the stamina for it, and I only have a 515-sq-foot apartment, haha. (This may say more about being out of shape than it does about cleaning, hmm.)
I’m so glad you got to get your nails done! YAYAYYA
It is! My food was def shitty! Like, onion rings, fried zucchini, and chicken nuggets. Come on, Kim. Ha ha ha.
I totally need to break it up next time, by rooms. It will still take a few hours to move everything, but I won’t be as stabby when it’s done. And I don’t think it’s about being out of shape! I was beat and I run all the time! I think it’s just from not doing it and being on our feet for that long!
Me too! What a treat! I love looking at my toes and not turning away in disgust. Hahahahaha.
Do you listen to anything when you clean to help pass the time? I always like cleaning tasks that I can do while I catch up on a podcast…except I almost always have to turn on the vacuum and there goes my peaceful listening. (Who am I kidding? H is doing most of the lockdown cleaning….)
That pile of snickerdoodles looks so good. They’re soft and chewy, right?
So, if the classic rock station isn’t doing a special feature (like, acoustic-only, or a shout-out to one artist) I listen to that! When they are doing that, I listen to podcasts but yeah, then I have to pause when I vacuum. LOL, so does H listen to anything?
Yes! Well, they were. Now they are in the freezer so hopefully they become that way again when they thaw!
