- Steven and I took a road trip to Milwaukee Monday night! On Monday morning Steven saw a post on On The Bus‘s Facebook page about a vegan “cheesecurd burger” so we ordered them for pickup and ate outside then walked by the lake. It was a gorgeous evening by the lake and fun to do something spontaneous.
- I got a massage yesterday (I needed it so badly!) then dropped of a book at a friend’s and social distance visited for a bit. I was in such a good mood after visiting with my masseuse friend and my other friend… gah, as well as I think I am doing with social distancing, it’s so much nicer to see people in person.
- I haven’t heard anything about a potential interview (the posting closed a week ago) but I will let you all know when I do!
- My birthday is coming up and I want to order a vegan cake from a specific bakery for myself. The problem is that the shop is small and only accepts a certain amount of orders. They opened orders back up this week and got 200+ inquiries just for the month of July! I wonder if mine will be selected. I won’t be upset if it’s not, because Steven is going to make me a strawberry pie, nom.

It is, right? That’s the farthest I’ve been from home since February! (And it’s only a 45 min drive, ha)

Ooh, vegan cheese curds! Did they squeak in your teeth? That’s the thing I remember from getting them in Wisconsin — people said you’d know they were fresh if they squeaked when you ate them. Was it worth the trip? (Maybe just getting out for a drive was worth it!)
They did not! Unfortunately our food was already room temp when we got it and everything on the sandwich was kind of melted together… so I did not get to hear the distinct squeak! That is true, from what I know though – they should squeak!
The fries were actually the star of the meal! It was nice to get out of the house!
