For seven years I taught a 6:30 pm class every Monday night. So if I wanted to run on Monday I needed to make sure I got up early and did it before work, or tried to squeeze it in after work and before leaving to teach. Mondays always felt so hectic and full. I got home past 8:00 pm and we ate dinner at 8:30. Just… blah.

So during our stay-at-home order it was so nice to have a choice – do I “sleep in” (until 6:20 am, ha)? Do I work out after work or read a book or take a nap? I felt so much more content having a choice. And I decided Mondays would be my rest days, at least from running, and sometimes, from doing any physical activity at all!

But here is the problem – when I don’t start my day with a run or SOME type of workout, I am a moody BYOTCH. It’s just a fact.

So Mondays are ROUGH. I’m moody from not working out, moody from getting too much sleep (gah, lame, I know), and usually moody about work. Ugh, what a way to start the week. Not.

I’m going to try starting next Monday with a workout and see if that helps.

Photo from my walk this morning… I really wanted to run but my body needs two days of rest after running all those miles last week!
