- I forgot to share this picture of Apollo on a video call with me last week. That swagger! He made my coworkers laugh.
- I was worried about the wind from Tropical Storm Cristobol this week so we brought our lawn furniture in. It was great to be able to store it in Dragonstone! I used to carry that stuff downstairs and it was a complete pita. Taking it to Dragonstone, while farther, was much easier.
- We’ve been talking to our newest next door neighbor a lot. We plan to hang out, outside, with him and his wife when we all feel comfortable with it. Anyway, we were on a walk Monday night and he was outside playing his guitar so we went over and he played us a song. How fun! It’s so great to have next door neighbors we like (on both sides)!
- Starbuck is NOT food motivated like Apollo and Khali, and how Data was. The cats get dry food then wet food in the morning, and she often leaves after eating her dry food and I have to find her and put her in front of the bowl for her wet food. No wonder she’s so smöl.
- Have you noticed you can’t find some specialty flavors of foods you like? For me, it’s been All Dressed Ruffles – they haven’t been available since the start of our stay-at-home order. This article (pdf here) gives some insight – to respond to the massive spike in demand due to COVID-19, companies switched production to focus mostly on their most popular products. Makes sense. At least I still have my Spicy Sweet Chili Doritos.
- We’ve finished Homeland and started watching Billions. It’s basically a soap opera of rich, powerful people using their money and power to screw other people over. I find it amusing. I also keep calling Damian Lewis “Brody” since that was his name on Homeland.
- I took a one week break from social media by deleting Facebook and Instagram from my phone (I did check in once or twice a day to see if anyone was trying to contact me or tagged me… so not a real break). It felt good.

Haha, that picture of Apollo made me laugh! Can you share which headphones you are using? I am looking for some that I can use since now I have much more online meetings. 🙂
I am glad it did! I have the Logitech Over-The-Head Wireless Headset H600. Be prepared for people to make fun of them… but they are what I like best!
I’d love to see someone’s cat hanging out like that on a video call for work! I’ve been sitting behind H sometimes during his calls at lunch, and I didn’t realize until I sat at his desk how visible the rest of the room (including me eating) is. Whoops!
We can never find All Dressed chips here, unfortunately. Did I tell you my friend’s husband thought they were called “Au dressed” because of the cursive font on the bag?
I love to see people’s pets too, and also did not realize how widescreen my video lens is! You can see A LOT! Whoops indeed! LOL at his coworkers seeing you eating! Ha ha ha.
Ha! You didn’t tell me that! I remember you got to try them though… how did you procure that bag?
That’s why I couldn’t find All Dressed Ruffles!!!!! I tried to get them for when we grilled on Memorial Day Weekend and they were nowhere to be found (at the one Jewel I went to – I guess I didn’t really try that hard, haha.). I was so disappointed! It is a TRAGEDY that All Dressed aren’t one of Ruffles most popular flavors, because they are easily the best, and I can only surmise that they’re not the most popular because enough people haven’t tried them.
Also I just actually read the article and my second favorite chips, Multi-Grain Scoops, are specifically listed as being unavailable, which also explains why we can’t find them! WHY DOES EVERYONE ELSE HAVE SUCH BAD TASTE IN CHIPS?!!?!?! Hahaha.
I 100% agree with you and wish more people would like All Dressed chips! Ugh they are so good! I didn’t know (or had forgotten!) you were a fan. Every time I have them I think of the first time I tried them last May in Saskatoon, when I was HANGRY and they were amazing.
You are really getting hit hard with your second favorite being unavailable! What is your third? I am scared to ask!
Well, don’t let it get out to the powers that be, but I’d say my third favorite are Harvest Cheddar Sun Chips (or maybe just Sun Chips in general). But I also love all barbecue chips, and fortunately I think a lot of other people share my feelings about those, so I would guess they’ll be safe!
I think they will be safe too! Those are both good choices!!!
OMG, Apollo. What a little dude. Just showin’ off for Mom’s coworkers! So funny.
I feel like Ellie’s also not very food motivated. When I give them treats, Lila will come RUNNING whenever she hears the container and then scarfs up the treats so fast! Ellie will eat very slowly and sometimes, she’ll just walk away while I’m in the middle of giving her treats! I CANNOT RELATE. I’m a Lila, through and through.
I took a break from Thursday-Tuesday and it was really nice! It did feel weird to not have anything to scroll through, haha, but I really love social media breaks.
He was! People ask about him when he’s not there now. Hee hee.
Ha! I am a Lila 100% too. It blows my mind when animals don’t come running when their hear their treat container. WHAT DOES IT MEAN TO NOT BE FOOD MOTIVATED?!
Good for you! And it does feel weird. I try to scroll Feedly news feed but that’s been an issue for me lately (too much anxiety). I need to get my sticker books back out so I do that with my hands instead.
Oh Apollo, he is too cute! He werking, Mom.
Our Henry got pretty thin while we were out of town for two weeks, despite having someone stay at our house and feed him every day (outside of course because Henners is a literal scardy cat when it comes to everyone but us). So I started giving him wet food in the evening as well as his usual morning meal, and he lets us know when it’s time for dinner, LOL. Glad he’s eating more because it was distressing to feel his bones, ugh.
Since I’m not blogging anymore, I’m not at my computer nearly as much (no writing) and as a result I’ve been off FB most of the time. I have to say I like it – I’m more at peace and feel like my brain is less stuffed with, well, stuff. Nice to hear the break made you feel better, too.
He is werking! He used to talk a lot more on my calls but he hasn’t been as much lately!
Aww Henry 🙁 You must have been so sad to come home and see he was too scared to each much. I am so sorry. I’m glad he’s eating more now and filling back out.
Ahh, great news! We don’t realize how much it clutters and affects our thoughts and well being until we take a break!
