- On Sunday, I was thinking about how I’d like to add some running vests to my holiday wishlist (I love vests), then when I got the mail Tuesday morning, there was a vest in there!!! Magically! I didn’t even order it! I willed it in to existence!!!!! Actually, my snis sent it to me as a surprise. We are so in sync sometimes! Thanks, snis!
- All week I’ve heard people (and even advertisements!!!) refer to us being on Daylight Saving Time (DST) now. We aren’t, folks! DST ended Sunday morning. We’re on standard time now! Most people say they want to stop practicing DST, but what I think they mean is that they want to be on DST permanently. Take my DST awareness poll below!

- The cats are struggling big time with DST ending. They keep waking me up at 3:00 to be fed. UGHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH.
These two are the instigators. Starbuck is off being coot* and innocent when they bug me.
*Not a typo. We call Starbuck “coot” (in place of cute). Her full name is Starbuck Cooters McScooters Bucatini Pew Pew OurLastName.
- I had my annual review at work this week, and it went well. This review included the time I spent acting in the team lead position, and it was nice to get recognition for some of the big things I worked on. The rumor is that that position will open for applications in the new year…
- I received a compliment from someone high up in a different division at work this week, which made my day! It feels good to be recognized outside of my division. I’m glad people know who I am.
- Our “lite” radio station started playing holiday music on Tuesday! I’d forgotten until I was flipping channels on Wednesday and was pleasantly surprised to hear “All I Want for Christmas Is You.”
- I was at ORD yesterday and gah, I witnessed people being SO RUDE when their coffee orders were made wrong. It’s annoying when you wait a long time and they make it wrong, and maybe you’re rushed and all that, but geesh, don’t be such a jerk!
- I really tried to stay on top of all my projects and project emails while traveling yesterday, but my inbox was full of requests this morning, and it made me feel super anxious. One thing at a time!
Paco is STARVING thanks to the time change. Pets do not like change, LOL.
How nice to get such a good review and the compliments…that kind of stuff goes a long way, doesn’t it?
That vest is beautiful! What a sweet sister gift!
Poor Paco! The time change is targeting all of our poor pets!
It does go a long way. Work has been so challenging and stressful that it helps to hear people appreciate what I am doing.
Thanks! I like it so much! I am going to ask for that brand in some other colors!
Ooh, you know, I haven’t noticed anything different with my cats with the time change! Maybe because I don’t feed them at a specific time (well, I usually fill up their bowl in the morning but it’s typically when I’m about to leave). Interesting!
I’m just happy people are realizing it’s Daylight Saving Time and not Daylight SavingS Time, hahaha. That’s the grammar nerd in me.
Yay for a good annual review AND a compliment! Yay, you!! All your hard work is being appreciated!
Aww, your girls are so polite and courteous. I love them. I am always so excited when your daily photo on Insta is of them!
Ha! Yes, I always have to double check that it’s not plural π I want to be right but I forget.
Thank you!!!!
Wow! VERY impressive work willing that vest into existence! It looks super cozy π
I love that you call Starbuck “coot.” Coots are birds! I’ve only ever seen one in the U.S., but they were ALL over the Netherlands – though now that I’m looking back on my post about the Netherlands where I mentioned coots, you commented that that’s what you call one of your cats, HA! We’re stuck in a coot comment loop, apparently π
I know right? It’s so cozy! The inside is fleece lined!!!
OMG. I laughed so hard when I read that we are stuck in a coot comment loop. OMG, I’m dying. Let’s keep the loop going! I am glad you mentioned they’re a bird again, since I obviously read that and forgot. I will remember now!
I get confused because currently, we’re on PST looks like DST, but it stands for “Pacific Standard Time.” The naming is also confusing because it sounds like you want to *save* daylight in the winter too!
I’m glad you’re getting recognition for all your hard work! ππ
Both of those things you mention are confusing! Did I tell you when we went to Saskatoon that they are in my time zone but don’t do DST or something so they were an hour back? Or something. Now I don’t remember. It’s all confusing. Stop moving the clocks, people!
