• Oh my gosh, the cats were being so cute Monday! (Also, I had to switch that orange blanket out to something more insta-worthy. Not sure why I used it for so long. I love orange but it doesn’t look great in photos – it’s too jarring.)

  • I stopped in B&BW last week and they were already putting out Fall candles. WHUT. Obviously I got one (a scent I love and never found last year). <— basic

  • I love how my dip manicure looks but I don’t think dip is for me – one nail chipped the next day, a few chipped Monday, and one completely popped off Monday night! So it didn’t even last four days. Grrr. (Another popped off right before I published this.)
  • Woot! Morningstar corn dogs are now vegan (they had egg in them before). I’m stoked – I loved these when I was vegetarian! (Field Roast also makes vegan (miniature) corn dogs (that are good), they’re just kinda expensive, and I’m not a corn dog baller).

  • I just finished An Astronaut’s Guide to Life on Earth. I was fascinated reading about the preparation of going to space, what it’s like to go and be there, the process of returning, and all the things that happen after return. The angle of the book is how the lessons learned working in the space industry can apply to anyone’s life – being super prepared, sweating the small stuff, being a team player, etc. Those parts were fine but I was really in it for the details on the space industry (which I got). Also, man, this book made me realize how much I wing ALMOST EVERYTHING. Oops…?

  • After three memoirs in a row, I started a fiction book, Blake Crouch’s Recursion, about a cop investigating False Memory Syndrome – a syndrome where people all of a sudden have vivid memories of an alternative life they never lived, and go mad from it. The story is also about a neuroscientist who is researching how to document memories to be relived, for people suffering from memory loss. I just started it, but it’s good so far!
  • I thought the trailers for the movie Shazam! made it look really dumb but we watched it this week and I thought it was a lot of fun! I was shocked I liked it. Crazy how a movie trailer can really turn you off!
