I would normally save this for Random Thoughts Thursday but it’s too exciting not to share RIGHT MEOW.
When we were in Saskatoon I had a “I need to eat right meow or I’m going to DIE” moment, so I picked the most vegan-looking chips from a vending machine and ended up with something called “All Dressed.”
Wowza, the chips were AMAZING. I figured they tasted so good because I was about to die, but we got another bag later so Steven could try them, and he liked them too. I took a photo of the bag to remember what they were, so I could look for them in the states.
(Ha, at dinner after I first had them, I was telling Steven about them and he asked if they were made by a company he’d heard of. I said “yeah, some company called Lay’s?” to be a brat. Ha. They aren’t even Lay’s!)
So I was getting groceries at our biggest grocery store the day after we got home and went to the Ruffles section (that’s what they actually were), and was SO SAD they didn’t have them.
I text my snis to lament the absence of these chips in my life and GUESS WHAT. A few days later, she discovered that Walmart sells them!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
She tried to buy them. She added them to her mobile order and they were “out of stock” when she picked up her order.
That made me nervous. What if I did the same and they weren’t available for me either? HORROR OF HORRORS.
BUT GUESS WHAT.
I placed a mobile order yesterday and picked it up today and HERE THEY ARE:
Ha, “#1 Flavor in Canada”!
IN MY POSSESSION.
Oh happy day.
So what the hell is “all dressed”? It’s kind of like BBQ, only better!

Ooooh, wow! Never heard of “All Dressed”! Totally get your obsession with chips – my personal crack cocaine…and although I enjoy trying new flavors, I am a purist and love plain salt the best.
Yes! They are addictive! We usually only have tortilla chips in the house so this is pretty exciting for us, ha!
Oh yes! Do you like the kettle ones with cracked sea salt and pepper. OMG.
Are chips popular there? What flavor do people like?
Paprika is the most popular, and then they have lots of other “special” flavors like salt and pepper, pickles (sort of like salt and vinegar but then with mustard flavor added in), joppie sauce (like mayo with onions)…it goes on and on. Recently, I saw they had a limited edition pizza flavor, so we had to try that. But at the end of the day, I always prefer plain salt.

Haha, when we went to Ireland my mom discovered the joys of Tayto crisps (AKA chips) and has been ordering them in bulk direct from Ireland ever since. The obsession is real 😉

I love All Dressed chips! I went to the beach with some friends a couple Fourth of Julys ago and one of them bought them on a whim at Jewel and brought them along. They were delicious! Definitely as good as BBQ, which is my favorite chip flavor.
Yasssssssssssss, you get it! That’s interesting to me that they’ve been around a while! That gives me hope they’re here to stay (although we finished that bag in just over 24 hours and I don’t need any for a while, ha).

One of my old co-workers was British, and we would always compare US vs. UK chip flavors. I always wish we had “prawn cocktail” here, but “All Dressed” sounds even better! One that I miss from the East Coast is “crab chips,” which have old bay seasoning.
Man, it sounds like the US really needs to up its chip game! I wonder if the international stores have some of those specialty flavors!
