- I felt silly about sharing my work anxiety yesterday (like, what is the big deal, Kim?) but I am SO GLAD I did because you guys made me feel so much better! Thanks for all the kind comments, emails, and texts! The meeting went well. My coworkers and I were super prepped, and my coworker from my team did an amazing job presenting! The really important person attending was nice and easy to talk to, and he made a decision on the spot!
- And now I am completely wiped. I am not built to be in long meetings two days in a row (we prepped all day Tuesday, and then I was in a two hour training before this meeting yesterday). I hope I can recharge (and catch up on work, eek!) today.
- This Tuesday was the day the veterinarian called Data’s birthday. I am grateful I was too busy to dwell on him being gone! We miss him so much, but our current kitty crew makes the grief so much easier to handle.
- Did anyone else watching Bohemian Rhapsody find themselves staring at the actor who plays the bassist wondering why the hell he looked so familiar? I finally looked him up this week when we watched it for the second time. MY MIND WAS BLOWN. And I was ashamed for not figuring it out on my own. The actor played the kid, Tim, in the original Jurassic Park! Cat making home alone face emoji!!!
- Sadness! The marathon/half marathon/10K/5K festival in the town we are going to in Canada is the weekend after we are there. It would have been fun to race while there! (I will definitely have time to run while there, which I am excited about!)
- I finished The Obelisk Gate (book two in The Broken Earth Series) yesterday. I liked it, but it didn’t wow me as much as the first one – probably because the first book is what introduced most of the context/world (and kind of has a big “twist”), and the pace of this one was a bit slower. I still enjoyed it though and need to pick up book three, The Stone Sky, today from the library. I will keep reading Text Me When You Get Home until I get that. Ha, that poor book. It’s not getting a thorough reading as I keep picking it up between this series!

Glad everything went well – you deserve some downtime!

Thanks! 🙂
Oof, getting through Dutch’s first birthday without him was really hard (his was on March 2nd) but the kitties helped make it easier than it would have been alone. They are so healing for our grief! <3
So glad the presentation went well! Yay!
I am so glad you had them to help!
I am too! Clients never make decisions that fast, woo hoo!
Really happy to hear that the work thing went well. Celebrate!
I hate it when you discover that you will miss a travel race by one week…that’s happened to me quite often.
Thank you! I will!
It stinks, right?! Grrrr.
I’m just catching up now, but I’m relieved to here (in reverse) that the meeting went well, thanks to all your preparation and hard work (not thanks to anxiety about it, ugh! I wish all that energy were actually productive.)!
OMG, Joseph Mazzello (I guess he goes by “Joe” now?) was my first “movie star” crush. I’m glad to see he’s still acting. I always have remembered his name. Actually, it came up at trivia/pub quiz when I was in Edinburgh, and I was so proud that I remembered what seemed like a useless fact.
Thanks! I was relieved too!
Aww, that’s fun! I remember being REALLY in to that movie. I never knew his name though!
I did not know that the bass player was the same kid in Jurassic Park. That’s awesome.
I didn’t even realize he was still acting!
