Notes:
- We had temps in the 40s! In January! It was so nice to run without a zillion layers on!
- One neighbor (I just learned his name!) is super sweet to me and NOT CREEPY at all (I say this because a few are) and when Steven and I were walking on Friday we stopped to chat with him. He told us how he is always impressed to see me running and thinks of me as a running goddess. Aww, how sweet. That made me feel nice!
- I’ve been trying to be better about always sending Steven a run Glympse and bringing my pepper spray. So far, so good. Hopefully, I never have to use the spray! (But in case I do, I make sure to always know which direction the wind is blowing.)
- Ha, I tried to avoid the wind for most of my speedwork but ended up with a few repeats uphill in a soft shoulder! I think the wind would have been better, after all!
- Monthly recap! In December I ran 90.1 miles (17 runs), cycled 37 miles (3 indoor rides), and swam 0 yards. I did 1 speed sessions and 2 hill sessions. My coldest run was 23°F and my warmest was 43°F. I taught 6 strength classes, 4 fitness boxing classes, and did 1 one-on-one sessions.
- Yearly recap! In 2018, I ran 1,917.2 miles, cycled 1,016.73 miles, and swam 35,427 yards. I did 38 speed sessions and 23 hill sessions. My coldest run was 12°F and my warmest was 93°F. I taught 89 strength classes, 24 fitness boxing classes, and did 7 one-on-one sessions. You can see my race stats here.
I also bring an emergency whistle, hoping its loud enough to scare an attacker off.
Its so nice that you know your neighbors.
Do you have any races in mind with your training?
That is a good thing to have!
No, nothing in mind. I am signed up for a half in May but not sure I will run it. I just want to get back to my 6 days/40 miles of running a week 🙂
