I decided to book a hotel in Chicago last night so I could fully enjoy our work holiday party without worrying about the two-hour commute home, and I’m so glad I did! The party started at 4:00, and the after-party went until midnight (well, that’s when I left). I had a great time. We all spend so much time being serious at work together – it’s a treat to let loose!
I saw a horrible photo of myself in my skinny jeans last month and decided it was time to try some wide leg pants. These jeans (below) are okay. The tan pants (second pic) are questionable with that jacket. And those shoes. And that backpack.
I’m also trying some curl products for my hair. I’m looking for a magical thing that makes my hair ready to go with minimal work from me. I know, it doesn’t exist.
I’m proud of myself for not talking much about flying on the Seattle trip. And for holding back on a very pedantic response that crossed my mind while talking to the cashier. I don’t want to be the person who won’t shut up about a certain thing, or the person who corrects small errors that really don’t matter (which sadly means I may have to get off of some of the hills I was intending to die on).
I received this ceiling fan (addressed to me) from Home Depot. We didn’t order it, and when I called to ask about the order number, it was in Home Depot’s system under something else! They were like “keep it or gift it for Christmas!” Ha. So weird though. This happened in the spring with some mugs from who knows where.
Wicked Part 1 was marketed so aggressively that I have absolutely no interest in seeing it.
Now for the completely random, whenever I write “dessert,” I think about my 5th grade teacher who taught us how to remember the difference between desert and dessert – that dessert has two Ss, just like how you always want more dessert.
Good idea on booking the hotel. Me and mine did that last year. Always a wise move. Oh, and free gifts? How weird is that did they address the package wrong? Very strange.
And funny thing about Wicked. Part of me so wants to see it while another part say you’ll be disappointed. I might wait till it’s out on DVD.

So so strange! Wish it was something I actually want or need LOL.
Ha, it’s odd I am saying this after I said I have no interest in it, but if you have ANY interest in going, I bet it will be better in the theater! I always like movies better in the theater!
You can pry my skinny jeans from my cold millennial hands!!! I just can’t get on board with wide-legged pants. Probably because I have short chicken legs. (I like the ones you’re wearing in the first photo, though!)
I honestly haven’t had any interest in seeing Wicked but all of the reviews are giving me FOMO. But unless someone asks me to see it with them, I probably won’t.
That’s how I remember to write dessert, too!

LOL! I am wearing my skinnies now!!!! It does seem like you’d need longer legs but who TF knows. I am so clueless with fashion (obvs).
Does your mom like to go to the movies? It does seem like one it makes the most sense to see in the theater.
Ha! Love it!

Somehow I missed out on all the marketing for Wicked. I saw the musical in Chicago a few times years ago, and my mom and I saw the movie last week. We both really liked it! It’s totally over the top but that feels in line with musicals IMO.
I didn’t realize how curly your hair was!! My hair has lost most of its natural curl as I’ve gotten older, but when I was looking into how to wear it that way one thing I noticed is that it’s the method just as much as the products you use that seem to make a difference. There’s a ton of info about the Curly Girl Method out there, if you haven’t run across that already.
I love the idea of wide legged pants but I never know what shoes to pair with them so I’ve mostly stuck with skinny and straight legs. Please share if you find some that you like π

Yay, I am so glad you both liked it! And of course it has to be over the top. It’s cool they did all practical events and sang on set.
I have run across it but haven’t dove in yet. I’ve been seeing ads and getting tips about method though. I think I’ll continue to play around with it. Who knows for how long. I am so lazy!
Ugh! That is how I felt with mine – like wtf shoes am I supposed to wear?! I will share if I do!

You’re right of course, a movie like Wicked really needs to be seen in the movie theatre. Argh, I just may try go see it this week before it vanishes.
I like the reasoning between 2 Ss in dessert. I always remembered because Sarara is a desert and has 1 S.
Oh! That’s a good way to remember it too!
I think your hair looks really cute curly!!
Thank you snis!!!
