- Here is the mani I got two weeks ago! I had this in a draft to post last week but didn’t feel like posting.
- Oh! And I had my hair dyed a little lighter last Friday. I like the color, but don’t love the application of it – the skinny stripes of it around my face and how it accentuates my roots. I know I’ll like it better when it grows out a bit.
- My last Stitch Fix was a bust. I asked for comfy long sleeved tops for our Europe trip and didn’t see any in my preview. So I asked for them again and didn’t receive any when the box came. I sent it all back without trying anything on (even the two things I was kind of interested in from my preview) and canceled future fixes.
- I want to pack as light as possible for our trip and wonder if I’ll be able to do it. I’m such an overpacker! I keep telling myself “all you ABSOLUTELY need is your meds, Kim!” All that being said, I’m thinking about bringing just a few things and wearing them several times. And doing laundry mid trip.
- I’m so glad March is almost over and we can be done with these motherfreaking 65 burpees a day in strength class.
- Marathon training is going well, but running and doing so much strength training is a lot, as I thought it would be. I’m looking forward to our trip and the training break. I was telling Steven this yesterday during our run and he asked if I was worried about a training setback because of the break. I told him I’m not. I think it will help to reset (even if it’s 4 weeks out from the marathon). I’m just running the marathon for fun anyway.
- I am also very much looking forward to being disconnected during our trip.
- Something that happened at work in June last year has been my main focus since then, and it’s finally getting close to a resolution and I feel cautiously optimistic about it all.

Yikes marathon training plus 65 burpees a day plus your other strength work is…a lot. I’d put money that the rest that you get on vacay will give you a boost.
Yes to minimal packing. What I wore accounts for zero of the one billion memories that I have from my trips.
Right? Plus I mentioned to Steven I am going to be on EU time and have a TON of energy in the morning to workout too! LOL.
Exactly! These are the tops I wear the most now so why not take those few with me? I already know I love them π
Love the mani! I think your hair looks nice! I am reminiscing on when you tried to dye your hair blonde in HS and it was bright orange. #mems π
TY!!! Ha, I bleached it to dye it orange, cause I was a dumb dumb! So so bad. Ha.
I have heard that there have been changes to Stitch Fix that aren’t for the good. How disappointing for you.
I am fascinated by people who can do all the training. Strength training AND training for a marathon. I’d be dead on my feet!
I think you heard right! They always listened to me before and this was just odd.
I am getting there π
Packing light is so smart – makes it a lot easier to get around if you don’t have a huge suitcase. I don’t know about you, but I never seem to even need all the things I pack anyway. And if for some reason I do need something unexpectedly, I figure I can always buy something.
I am looking forward to seeing you guys very soon! π
I rarely need all the things! And yes, even more of a reason to buy something π
We are too! So so excited! I got your email re: dates – just confirming a few things then will respond! One of those will work for sure!
When I’m trying to pack light I always think “all I really need are my thyroid meds, my contacts, and my nightguard.” Everything else is replaceable. Although running shoes would be a hassle to replace, so those are the next things to be packed.
A little break in training is almost always a good thing. I agree it’s hard to fit in the strength when you’re in peak training for a race. Enjoy your trip!!!
I was thinking the same with running shoes LOL! What are the odds I would find size 12 Asics in Europe?!
I am so so excited for the break. Woo hoo. Thank you!
I am an overpacker, too! I hope you are able to pack as lightly as possible for your trip – it’s hard!
Sorry you weren’t pleased with your highlights. That’s always a bummer because it’s an expensive disappointment!
Hooray for the break from work and working out and social media! It will be so good to get away and have some new experiences. I’m so excited for you!
Thanks! I am going to try so hard! I don’t want to have to worry about luggage.
I just got off a work call with someone who studied abroad for two weeks in one of the cities we are going to and it made me even more pumped!!!! And thank you!
I am usually an overpacker unless I know I am going somewhere with laundry. That said, I am not averse to sink laundry if needed, and suspect you will be just fine. π
Bummer about the highlights and the Stitch Fix. Sigh. Don’t companies realize that when they don’t listen to their customers, they… lose business?
I hope so! I want to prove to myself that I don’t need ALL THE THINGS! lol
Ha, it must not matter. What’s weird is they used to! It seemed like such a fluke!
