- This has been such a “is it Friday yet?” week. I’m so ready for the weekend.
- I did something crazy this morning – slept in until 6:20! It felt good, even thought it was weird not to work out before work. I’m really trying to listen to my body though. And I had already decided to take leave and do a run this afternoon anyway.
- I’m considering running a half marathon toward the end of October. I can’t decide if I want to sign up now, when it’s a little bit cheaper, or wait until it gets closer and see how I feel about it.
- I tried the HIIT class at WWM Fitness on Tuesday. I was intimidated by it, but felt encouraged to try after another student told me it was manageable. And it was! It was hard, but fun. We did cardio outside (I was the last on most drills except the running, ha!) then 3 rounds of lifting inside with only 15 secs rest between compared to the usual 30 in the other classes. I was drenched in sweat but felt good, and I really enjoyed flipping the 250 lb tire!
A lot of people have asked if this class is CrossFit similar after seeing this photo. It’s not.
- I broke another dish Monday. This time I was moving a pot I had just washed to the drying mat and hit the bowl with it and the bowl cracked. I got a small piece of glass in my finger that Steven was easily able to pull out with his fingers.
- Notice I haven’t talked about the garden in ages? Oops. It’s been a bit neglected. The tomatoes and cucumbers are still coming in strong. The week I was in Denver it was really hot here and a lot of the small tomatoes cracked and that attracted (created?) gnats. So we went through and tried to get all the bad tomatoes out to get rid of them. But we haven’t been out there as much as we should be.
- Steven made some tomato sauce last night using our produce that was delish, though!
- I found out I have to go to a work thing in under two weeks that requires clothes that are a bit more professional (read: less fun) than what I wore to the Denver work thing. Eek. I need to find out if I have pants or dresses that fit and meet the bill. I really hope I don’t have to shop.
Team Broken Dish! I dropped one of my favorite coffee mugs yesterday, just a stupid thing where I was walking from my office to the kitchen and the next thing you know the mug was on the floor in a million pieces. Hey at least it was empty and I needed to vacuum anyway.
That’s a tricky one on whether to sign up now and get the discount or wait until later on to see how you feel about it. I always used to sign up early for the discounts, but then I started hating the races that past me signed me up for….

Exactly! That is where I am at too. Like would signing up motivate me or annoy me? I’d like to decided today before the price increases tonight, too!

I have started dropping so much stuff recently that I’m starting to get a bit concerned about it. Like, I’m just randomly dropping the dog’s leash and I don’t know how it happened! Fortunately it hasn’t been any dishes recently ,but I’m on team dropsies with you.
OMG! I was just thinking the same thing last night – why does everything I try to pick up or move drop?! I got so mad at something last night my husband was like “just let me handle it” (after the second time I tried to put it away and it fell out of the cabinet).
I wonder what is up with us. I always blame it on bad proprioception but maybe it’s something more.
Haha, I am like you when it comes to races… I rarely sign up way in advance because I often can’t make plans that far ahead and sometimes I want to see how I feel .
On the other hand, it helps with the commitment when you sign up now 😉
Right! Exactly! Do I want to see how I feel or have the commitment? I know I will keep training for that distance whether I sign up or not. So far I haven’t signed up.
KIM! I forgot to tell you that a few days after I shattered a plate in my kitchen, I was picking up a glass in my sink to wash it and it slipped out of my hands and broke! I was starting to get concerned, lol. Something’s happening in the universe that’s making us drop all the things lately!
“slept in til 6:20” is a very funny sentence in my world. 😉

OMG! It is! What is going on? Is it because we had a blue moon last month? Or… do we all need a vacation? Ha!
Ha! I know, but I am doing a lot better on sleep! I am getting at least 7 hours a night most nights since I got back from Denver!

Another one with terrible proprioception AND balance. At least we’ve all found each other? I am still finding glass pieces from breaking something…at least 4 years ago, probably 5. (I’ve lived in this apartment for a long time…) So I hear you, for sure.
