• I really wanted to run while I was on this part of the trip (the work part) but the only free time I had was before 6:30 am and it was dark out. Womp womp. But I ran yesterday and today and am glad I got to! I just wished I could see where I was running.

  • I was really excited to find (and buy) a Denver Starbucks Been There mug! I had the Colorado one and had no idea there was a Denver one too. We found it at Starbucks yesterday by accident – they usually have the boxes open with the mugs on display but it was in a closed box a coworker just happened to open.

  • Val and I had dinner Wednesday night with a rock painter (@factcheckergirl) that lives out here. It was fun to meet another artist, and to get vegan food at So Radish!

  • I was telling Val I like to drive in new places and she asked if I wanted to drive her Jeep Cherokee Rubicon after dinner. Heck yeah! This car has been on my radar for a future car, and it was fun to drive!

  • Shoutout to Val for driving me all over the Denver area since last Friday! I appreciate her so much! And am so glad I got to see her one more time before I left (and am so glad we have our next trip booked!).
  • I signed up for a fitness challenge with a few coworkers at work. I’m not really sure how it works – it tracks steps, how much sleep you got, if you worked out in the morning, if you suspended judgement, if you had meaningful conversation, and if you had balanced meals. And it converts all that into a dollar amount? Strange. Anyway, yesterday was the first day I could select 7-9 hours of sleep (I got 6:58, but close enough).
  • I’ve had so little time to myself since I got here Friday (mostly welcomed!) that I’ve been staying up late to get that time. It’ll be nice to go home today and get back to a more normal schedule.
  • It’s crazy to me how much more manageable the high 90s temps feel here with that low dew point. I’m not instantly sweaty when I step outside! Amazing! There’s been a heat wave in Illinois while I was away and I am not sad I missed it.
  • I’ve had a dry mouth a few coughing fits while in Denver. I wonder if that’s from the altitude/dryness or talking so much or both.
