Some plants in our garden weren’t liking how much direct sun they were getting (we could tell by their sad droopy leaves), so on July 4th, we put up a plant cover.
Steven bought this one (affiliate link) on Amazon. It’s made of 100% Polypropylene fiber, a breathable fabric. The idea is that the cover protects from wind, frost, snow, and sun damage.
It was easy to put up since we mostly had the supports in place – we just had to add a few more supports and some string across.
Then we cut it, draped it over, and used clamps to clamp it to the supports!
Looks funny, right? But we noticed an improvement the next day! And it rained right after we put it up, and some of the rain still went through.
When we want to work in the garden, we just unclamp the cover and flip it back, do our work, then put the cover back in place. I’m glad we have this option, since we can’t easily move those beds or the plants around!
Also! Exciting garden development! Green beans are coming in!
And we have a TON of green tomatoes. Exciting!
Yeah! How exciting to actually see some of the fruits of your labor!
It is! And yesterday we ate two green beans fresh off the bush and they were delish!
Awww, little blankets for the plants! I love it!
Those green beans look great!
That’s totally what it is! Ha!
Thank you!
I seriously have to have your husband come over and teach a gardening class. LOL
Ha!!!! You are doing well without him!!!
So, wait. Does enough sun come through that they can grow and produce veggies? I mean, it seems like it would but…?
It totally does!
