A few notes from the weekend!
Thursday Highlight | My hairstylist so enthusiastically commenting on my weight loss. It made me feel good for all the hard work I’ve done!
Other Thursday Happenings | my Shitterfly magnet order arriving • going to Trader Joe’s after my haircut – I hadn’t been to one in ages!
Thursday Lowlight | getting my ultrasound EOB in the mail (I requested it, and knew it would be costly, but, UGH)
Friday Highlight | Laughing at dinner with Steven.
Ha, same outfit as Thursday!
I ended up writing a whole long post about this, but basically, I was so out of it at dinner that I couldn’t remember if I like corn or flour tortillas and Steven teasing me about it was hilarious.
Other Friday Happenings | being surprised by an Ali on the Run show episode for my morning walk (one had come out the day before and I wasn’t expecting another so soon, yay!) • calling EAP and getting a therapist recommendation being a total breeze (that therapist no longer works with EAP so I left a message with another) • a productive working lunch with Steven • receiving a Starbucks gift card from Shelley • mailing a package to a friend in Australia • picking up my bike from the shop • reading after work and letting the cats out on the balcony • running with Steven • being shoe twins with Steven during our run • going out for Mexican food for dinner • putting up my new Shitterfly magnets • snuggling with Ned in bed • reading and falling asleep before 10:00
Saturday Highlight | Getting the garden beds filled!
It’s so nice to have this done and have the huge pile of soil out of our driveway!
Other Saturday Happenings | walking and listening to a new-to-me podcast (The Drop, still deciding if I like it) • getting a postcard in the mail from Caitlin from her California trip • making a chai when I got back • working on this post • taking our red twig dogwoods out of the basement and laughing at how they filled the exercise room • getting a lot done on the garden beds • the garden center being able to deliver more soil • soaking in a bath after working my body so hard • going to the movie to see Sisu (what a wild movie! I enjoyed it but had to look away for some parts) • playing with the cats when we got home • finishing a book – The Silent Bride
Sunday Highlight | Going on my first bike ride of the year!
I felt so sleepy when I woke up Sunday am but when I saw it was in the low 60s with barely any wind, I had to get up and ride!
Other Sunday Happenings | getting the two (that’s it! ahh!) rocks I painted this week resined • listening to The Drop while picking up sticks • prepping the produce • getting started on some Fake Meats marketing work • grilling and filming a Fake Meats video • eating said grilled food (BURGUR!!!!) • more Fake Meats marketing work • a run with Steven (our first time running 8 minutes at a time!) • finishing The Family after dinner • starting a new book and going to bed early
Weekend Lowlight | not having much downtime at home – we sure got a lot done though, and went out twice!
Woohoo, first bike ride of the year! Must feel good to be back out there. <3
I love all the photos you post of you and Steven on your runs. What a fun activity for you guys to do together!
It did! And I did a short ride with my dad this weekend, which was nice!
Thanks! It has been! It takes me back to when we started running, since we started together.
Goodness, you were busy busy busy! The story of the tortillas is hilarious, I must admit. And I’m glad you eventually got food! Hope you get some downtime SOON.
Also, when you “make a chai”, what do you use to make it? Inquiring minds want to know! 🙂
I hope I do too! Maybe in June! LOL.
Here is what I use! https://kimhastheruns.com/2023/05/random-product-recommendation-tazo-skinny-chai-latte/ I use 2/3 of the mix and 2/3 vanilla almond milk and heat it up o n the stove.
