- Christina signing up to do RAGBRAI with me and Dad. Yay! She started working out consistently this year and I’m so proud of her and excited she’s joining us (it will be her first time)! The most important thing? That we find fun matching jerseys for us three!
Me, Julie (Will’s sister), Will, Christina, & Dad from RAGBRAI 2015Β
- Having a great first therapy appointment today. I could really tell we were aligned with what I want out of therapy (a toolkit to help with my anxiety) and that she was getting what I was saying. She already provided an insight that seems so obvious in hindsight, but wasn’t to me (that I binge-eat to self-soothe.)
- Having beautiful weather in the mornings. I’ve really appreciated going on walks and feeling so comfortable!
- The Fake Meats reel we posted Monday doing so well! Yay! And having an idea of the social media calendar for a couple posts… I get so stressed out when it’s not planned out (because I am brain dead and didn’t plan anything).
- The cleaners coming today.
- The sun being out so I can resin.
- A friend finding out what was causing them so much physical pain.
- Coming to the realization that if I want to paint, but not think about what I’m painting, I can repaint stuff I’ve made before (duh, Kim).
- AIR being on Amazon Prime.
- Remembering that at dinner Saturday night, Mom said, “Let’s change the subject. Does anyone know who Taylor Swift is?” Buah ha ha. We all died.
Yay for a therapist who gets you! I’m really excited for you – and of course very happy that I finally started.
Thank you! I am excited for you too! Have you had your second session yet? Mine is on Monday.
I’m so happy to hear that your first therapy appointment went well!! That’s great. I find that just about everything my therapist points out is really obvious in hindsight, but sometimes it’s hard to be insightful when you’re in the weeds of your own life.
Thanks! And definitely – that is what I said at the beginning when she asked me what I wanted out of therapy – someone with an outside perspective that isn’t family or a friend to give me some insight and help me reframe.
Oh, I do love to hear good success stories about therapy! I’m glad it was accessible to you and that you had a good connection. Fingers crossed that it continues to be a good collaboration.
Thank you! I hope so too! I felt really good when it was over yesterday, and every time I think about it, and am looking forward to Monday!
So many good things, yay! I love that you’re doing a race with your dad and a friend!
Me too! It my sister! I am excited for her to experience the ride!
Oh, I am so, so happy that you had a great therapy appointment and felt an immediate connection with your therapist! That is so important! Isn’t it so interesting when you hear something that seems OBVIOUS but you’ve never considered it? Therapy has done that for me so many times!
It is! I felt so optimistic and hopeful after because of how seen and understood I felt. And yes it is. Gah. It blows my mind it can keep happening. Just shows how in my bubble I am LOL!
This makes ME happy to read it! I’m thrilled to know that the therapist appointment started off well and hope that your connection has persisted. All the fingers crossed, because having a good relationship with someone who can provide insights yet not be enmeshed in your day to day life is… amazing. π
And yay for your snis for doing RAGBRAI! I am envious – it always looked like so much fun! π
I am glad it did! The relationship is still going well and I am finding it very helpful!
I’m stoked. We went on a ride last week and had a lot of fun. I hope she loves RAGBRAI!
