Painting has been feeling like a burden lately. Another thing I feel like I “have” to do. So I haven’t been doing it unless I absolutely feel like it. Liberating.

Er… the problem with that is that I have nothing to do with my hands after dinner and am more likely to mindlessly snack or get a second helping of dinner that I’m not actually hungry for.
Maybe I should come up with some things to paint! Ha.
I see you and I hear you! I don’t have a solution, but I know that feeling so well, when a “productive” hobby starts to feel like a chore.
Thank you for seeing me! I hate losing interest in it, but know it would be worse if I forced it.
Hobbies should be fun breaks from our responsibilities, so I’m glad you’re not forcing it!
Unsolicited suggestion: I usually brush my teeth and/or pop in a piece of gum after dinner because I hate to ruin the minty freshness once I’ve got it.
Exactly! It used to be a way to chill and it’s not right now.
I actually did that on Thursday! I need to remember to do it more often!
OMG, Ned rules! Rookie of the Year, Most Improved… he’s having a great year!
He is!!! Everything’s coming up Ned! LOL!
I’m sorry that painting has started to feel less fun these days. But I’m glad you have allowed yourself to take a break from it and not force yourself to paint. Hobbies should feel fun, like Anne said! I hope your painting mojo comes back.
Thanks! It did this week when I figured out I could repaint really easy stuff that requires no brain power, so I’ve been doing that all week and it feels good!
It’s good you’re taking a break from painting (a hobby should never feel like a chore), but it makes sense that your hands are looking for “something else to do”.
Another creative activity maybe? How about knitting? 🙂
I thought about getting back into knitting! But then I figured out this week I could repaint really easy old designs that don’t take any brain power and I have found enjoyment in that!
