A few highlights from the weekend!
Saturday
- Getting some work done before my walk with Kris. I was trying to get ahead so I could relax more in the afternoon and it worked for once!
- A walk with Kris. It was so nice to focus on only what she was saying and putting one foot in front of the other. I’ve been so scattered lately that it felt really rewarding to just be in that moment.
- Donating at Goodwill. I had four bags and two boxes sitting in the dining room for a week and I was happy to get rid of them.
- Getting a little more work done after lunch then…
- Hammock time and reading! My first time out on the hammock this year! Last year I didn’t even put the hammock out because we were having our decks redone and I was so happy to lie in it a bit this weekend. I let all the cats out on the balcony, and read while they sniffed, and rolled around, and enjoyed the nice weather.
- A short nap. I came in at just the right time – my nap had some thunder and rain! So relaxing.
- Watching a bit of Daisy Jones and the Six. I remember loving the book and I am not loving the show but I do want to finish it.
- A surprise run with Steven. We try to do all three of the week’s runs together but we didn’t sync up on Friday (I ran on my own) and I didn’t think he’d want to run after working all day Saturday, but he did – it was his idea. And it was muggy out after that rain, whoa. But I felt good.
- Burgers for dinner.
- Painting and watching South Park. Gah, that show really makes me laugh!
- Finishing a really bad book (Something Bad Wrong) and being able to start one I was really excited about (Choosing to Run: A Memoir).
Sunday
- Walking and listening to Nobody Asked Us with Des & Kara.
- Getting gas and groceries done.
- Scrolling Instagram while taking a bath and drinking a homemade chai.
- Going over my work from the previous day with Steven.
- Watching a movie and painting then listening to a podcast and painting. Our internet was out for a few hours and I couldn’t work. Must have been a sign to chill and paint!
- Stir Fry for dinner. I wanted to film parts of it for a Fake Meats reel and it was so much easier to do with Steven cooking (the one other time I tried this, I cooked). I am still horrible with food photos and video, but it was easier.
- Movies and podcasts with painting again. I got a lot of painting done Sunday, yay! Now I just need some sun to take photos. It looks like my one chance this week will be the day I am in the office, ha.
Lowlights
- Getting mad Saturday morning about a website not working when I just wanted to get some work done. I have no chill.
- Getting two of Friday’s test results back and being out of range. Hopefully those two are just affected by the Coumadin and the other two come in good.
- Finding a tick on my leg Saturday. Gah! It icked me out SO MUCH.
Ticks! NO!! I did not want to hear that I already need to be vigilant! NOOOOO!!
Sigh (I literally just sighed, ha). I know. It feels way too soon.
Ugh, ticks. I once had to write all of these pages about tick bites and treatment for an urgent care center, and it squicked me out so much! We don’t have to deal with ticks here in Florida (just mosquitoes!) and it does not sound fun.
I’m glad you were able to get some hammock reading in. I keep asking my mom to put a hammock with an umbrella in her backyard (solely for me, haha), but she hasn’t done it. Maybe I just need to buy it for myself! I’m looking forward to moving to another place where hopefully my balcony will be bigger (and screened in) so I can do some hammock reading of my own!
Oh gah! It would do the same to me! The are so ick! I am glad you don’t have them there!
Yes! Just show up with it there! Better yet, wait until she is gone and set it up so it’s a “surprise” when she gets back. Ha! I hope your new place does have a bigger balcony!
Oh, man, ticks ALREADY? I’m with you and NGS. Not. Fun.
I think it’s awesome that you still ran with Steven even though you didn’t plan on it – go, you! And hope your numbers come back into range… So frustrating…
Right! I was looking back at last year and I had 14 on me (not all at once) one day in May, so I was like, I guess it is that time of year!
Thank you!
