A few highlights from the weekend!
Thursday
- Seeing John Wick 4 with Steven, Bobbi, and John. It was decent but much longer than it needed to be. I’m glad I saw it in the theater though – I can never pay attention to action movies like that at home.
- Being able to get a vegan burger at the theater.
Friday
- Getting some Fake Meats work done and lunch with Steven and a coworker. All week I was stressed about the Fake Meats work I needed to do so I just went to the office on my day off and worked for about 4 hours.
- A mani/pedi with Lorena. I really like how the mani turned out! Unfortunately I was kind of braindead and not super chatty. It just hadn’t been my week (month?).
- A run in the rain. I treated myself and listened to music and just zoned out and it was lovely. (Then I turned around when I saw lightning and heard thunder.)
- Starting a Taylor Jenkins Reid Book I hadn’t read yet – One True Loves. There’s a movie version of the book coming out this week. It looks horrible, but I think I need to rent it. Ha.
Saturday
- Putting some cards in the mail.
- Listening to podcasts during a walk.
- Getting 51 rocks resined (I had not resined since early February!) and listening to two more podcasts. It felt good to get those all done. It took me two and a half hours and I did them all under the warming lamps since the weather was cold and cloudy.
- A bath.
- Receiving an Easter package from a friend and an Easter card from another friend.
- Finishing the show Never Have I Ever and painting.
- The Fake Meats April Fools reel getting a lot of engagement.
- Dinner out (burgers!) with Steven. Ha, our waiter said he would pay for our appetizer if we could pass a quiz and it was on state capitals and we failed. HA HA HA.
Sunday
- Breakfast sandwiches.
- Getting some Fake Meats writeups done.
- A run with Steven.
- Running in to Fernando on our run. Fernando is the person who found my rock and got me connected to teach rock painting at Thresholds, where he works! I am glad Steven got to meet him.
- Getting some things we needed to build our garden beds (and more seeds!).
- Getting more Fake Meats work (image editing) done.
- Pasta for dinner and painting while watching a movie. I just wanted to sit on the couch and paint and was so glad I got to for a bit.
- Finishing One True Loves. I love a fast read!
Lowlights
- A cashier being rude to me when we went grocery shopping after dinner Saturday night. Ha. I asked if they could put our items in plastic bags and they said “we have signs out that say we have a plastic bag shortage” all snotty. Well I obviously didn’t see the sign. How about “We have a shortage, is paper okay?” (which it was). It made me feel really stupid.
- Grocery shopping taking so long Saturday night.
- Menards taking so long on Sunday, then there being a stopped train on the way home and it taking even longer to get home. I just wanted to be home. (Sensing a theme here?)
- Having to work so much Sunday. I knew I would have to work Friday and Sunday and tried to maximize Saturday as a chill day but I still felt moody. Wah wah wah. It is what it is – it’s either on lunch break, after work, or on the weekends.
Ahhh… I love the April Fools prank! Steven is a star!! Those Karens, man. 😉
One True Loves is soooo good. I didn’t know the movie was coming out so soon! Adding it to my list to watch.
I hope you’re able to have a restorative, restful weekend soon. Seems like you have a lot on your plate these days. <3
Thank you! Did you see any good ones last Saturday? I didn’t see much!
It is! I saw your rating and knew I’d like it!
Thank you, me too! I keep thinking it’s going to happen but since we are getting our garden going we have a lot of building and planting to start doing. But I keep trying to make time for me!!!!
That April Fools’ joke is hilarious. 🙂
You are doing so much! For Fake Meats, and work, and rocks, and exercise. Remember to take time for you in there!
Thank you! I am glad you liked it!
And thanks for noticing that. I am trying hard to and finally did this weekend! I can’t keep this up.
