- Thanks so much for your encouragement on last week’s RTT cry for mental health help. I was able to get telehealth appointment with my doctor for later today. I didn’t even know they were an option – I tried to make one and she didn’t show as available, and her next in-person availability was right before my annual with her, so I sent her a message asking if she could refer me to someone else and she offered the telehealth. I’m glad I asked!
- I have lots of physical energy, but not a lot of mental energy. I think what is going on with me is burnout.

- One thing I’m doing to help myself with burnout is releasing myself from the self-imposed goal of posting a new art piece on my rock Instagram each day. I started that on Sunday and it feels good.
- I’m also going to see what I can do to recreate trending reels for Fake Meats rather than doing entirely new ideas for each reel.
- I’m also being mindful about what relationships I invest time in. I’ve been talking a lot lately with friends about parasocial relationships and how people think they know you and overload you with long paragraphs of text or endless reels/memes and… it can feel like a huge strain on our time.
- I should have asked my vascular doctor last week if he still wants me on the 2.5-3.0 range for INR, or if I can go back to 2.0-3.0. I guess I’ll wait to bring it up the next time I drop below 2.5. Hopefully, that just doesn’t happen!
- The interesting thing about being on Warfarin for life is that I need to have a consistent diet, avoid alcohol and certain foods, and not get any head injuries (ha). I stopped drinking well before this drug but now I will be extra watchful.
- Usually when I walk on the treadmill I listen to the radio and scroll Instagram. I decided to try listening to a podcast and scrolling Instagram and I didn’t think it would work since I can’t read and listen at the same time, but it did! Woo hoo! That is the only multitasking I can do!
- I will always share my Shitterfly magnet deal. I cannot imagine paying $143.64 for 18 magnets. Crazy.
Yay that your doc is seeing you today and boo that they didn’t let you know that telehealth was an option up front. I really feel that medical offices need to evaluate WHY someone needs an appointment and to be proactive about suggesting other options when appropriate.
I like your self care plan.
I totally agree that they need to. Otherwise I would be sitting here thinking I had to wait until late June (although, I did know she would get back to me!).
Thank you!
Oh, I’m very glad to hear you were able to schedule a telehealth appointment! I definitely think you are experiencing burnout and hopefully you’ll be able to figure out what priorities need to shift off your plate to help! <3
Thanks! That’s exactly what I do need to do – reprioritize. Top of the list – rest. π
So, so glad you got in earlier with your primary. Whew. I agree, though, that alternatives are not mentioned as often as they should be. It’s also so frustrating when the online scheduling platforms don’t reflect the provider’s actual availability. π
I hope that they were able to help you…. burnout is no fun. π
Right! And it’s impossible to get them on the phone. Ugh. I am glad she’s so responsive!
