I’m splitting this weekend recap into three posts! My friend Jean and her mom Tuy visited this weekend so Jean could be a vendor at POP Cats in Chicago on Saturday and Sunday.

Sunday

  • Getting almost 8 hours of sleep! I still felt dead to the world, but hopeful it would get better.
  • Chilling and writing blog posts.
  • Pancakes and vegan bacon for breakfast.
  • Getting some chores done around the house that I hadn’t made time for over the past few days.
  • Going on a run with Steven.
  • A salad and vegan chicken fingers for lunch.
  • Watching John Wick 2 and John Wick 3 while painting. I got four sets of rocks painted to use as examples for the next class I teach at Thresholds on April 14. Woo hoo! I’m hoping to get a few more sets painted this week, then I will resin them all to take with me (last time I didn’t and they got scratched, oops).

  • Trying a taco soup recipe for dinner (note: we only did 1 lb of meat). Pretty good, once you put the toppings on!
  • Hearing all about POP Cats Day 2 from Jean and Tuy. The second day was even busier and she is flying home with a lot less merchandise than she brought! Yay!

Monday

  • Sleeping past 6:30.
  • Having the morning off and hanging out with Jean and Tuy a bit before they left.
  • Having time to get groceries during lunch, and go on a walk after work (then take a bath).
  • Finishing John Wick 3 at night.

Lowlights

  • Getting sick Tuesday morning. I woke up with my stomach feeling off so I called into work (for the morning) then threw up several times. Ugh. I think it was round 2 of that taco soup from Monday night. Blah.
