- I felt all better from whatever Tuesday’s sickness was when I woke up yesterday morning. Phew. I’m grateful that I only had two calls on Tuesday at work (I worked a few hours in the afternoon) compared to the twelve (four at the same time) I had on my calendar on Wednesday. Tuesday was an easier work day to miss.
- I took my first workout rest day of the year on Tuesday! Normally, taking a day off and breaking a streak would bother me, but it doesn’t anymore! I was sick/weak and trying to work out would have been so stupid of me. I’m glad to mentally be in this place.
- I ate dinner out Monday – Saturday last week. Six nights in a row. Ugh. That is fine while on vacation but not at home.
- We’re starting a garden this year! Yay! It’s something we’ve thought about the seven years we’ve lived here but never focused on because we had other yard stuff going on. We’re starting the broccoli and tomatoes inside (the rest can start outside) and we’ll start building our raised beds in April.
- I mentioned a while ago that Goodr was going to send me a free pair of Goodrs and I had no idea which… here they are! My first pair of Circle Gs. Steven said “those might be the first pair of sunglasses I don’t think look awesome on you.” I agree, ha (backstory – he always says all sunglasses look good on me, so this was legit the first pair that don’t).
- I went into the new Starbucks by our house last Thursday (to buy a mug). It looks nice! I am looking forward to getting a chai there this year.
- I’ve made standing Thursday manicure appointments and have had to move all of them so far. Er… I might need to reconsider Thursdays.

Murphy’s Law says that the unflattering sunglasses will be the pair that you never lose and are always around when you can’t find your flattering sunglasses.
Yep, I guess it’s time to think about gardening. For the past few years I’ve really phoned it in and just done herbs and tomatoes. We’ll see what happens this year.
I bought a pair of sunglasses at Target one day in the summer in an emergency situation (I had a killer headache and it had been raining when I left the house, so I forgot my sunglasses at home) from the bottom of the clearance bin and they are terrible. They’re reflective lenses with a blue frame and they are super heavy and blech. I have had them for YEARS. I will never lose them. Murphy’s Law indeed.
OMG. That is amazing. Can we please see these?!
Ha! Probably! I should probably let you know though… I have 26 pairs of Goodrs, so I will always be able to find a flattering pair!
That doesn’t sound like phoning it in to me! That’s more than we’ve ever done at this house.
What does it say about me that I DON’T hate those Goodrs on you?!
I’m glad the stomach bug only lasted one day but EXCUSE ME, 12 calls in one day? 4 at the same time? How do you handle that?!?! I would not do well.
I’m glad to hear that you were able to have a rest day from working out and be okay with that! That’s major progress, Kim!
That you are a great friend!
I did NOT handle it well! Thankfully those 4 were all at 1:00 an I had to pick one but wtf. Too many calls.
Thank you! I am proud of myself!
Sunglasses never look good on me – particularly round ones! 🙂 My current ones are from 3 prescriptions ago and I literally cannot see when I put them on. Have I done anything about this? No. Sigh.
Also? Some of your days sound like mine with All The Meetings. Solidarity but also man, it kind of sucks, doesn’t it? Sigh.
Oh no! I hope when you get a new prescription they still have those frames!
Yeah it does. It makes the days go fast but it’s exhausting and hard to focus all day!
