We had an early wakeup call on Sunday – 4:00 am! And with the time change, it felt like 3:00 am. Ick. My watch said “You slept too little, and your body did not recharge. You may feel very tired today.”
I sure did. Ha.
We packed up, went to rental car return at the airport (and let them know about the busted taillight and scratches), then rode to the airport. We were through security with enough time that we could have gotten on the 7:00 am Chicago flight (we were on the 8:15). What can I say? We are “get to the airport early” types.
I worked on blogs while we waited to board. At one point, an announcement came on, and the workers around us were all talking at once, and it felt like the volume increased x4. I felt so sensitive to noise! I put my headphones on at full blast to block it out. (That’s been happening to me a lot lately with noise.)
We flew first class again. I put my seat all the way down flat to try to nap, but couldn’t, so we both put Tron: Legacy on and I paid for internet and worked on blog posts some more! There was a meal again, but they didn’t have any vegetarian or vegan options, so I asked for the cold oats from the magazine (the collage shows the scramble Steven asked for from the magazine). Why am I getting into this much detail? Ha. Who knows.
The flight went by fast and we landed around 2:30 Chicago time. We got to the car and drove straight to… El Famous! Ha! I was fading fast and just wanted some real, hot food that wasn’t something sweet. We both got a taco and split some fries and it gave me life! Until 7:30 pm.
I unpacked right away when I got home, hung out with the cats, walked on the treadmill, took a bath, ate dinner, watched part of Tag… then went to bed as early as I could. I was so tired, even though my body was supposed to feel like it was on LA time! I slept nine and a half hours that night! (and all the cats slept with me, aww)
The kitties missed you! I love when I come home from vacation because my cats always won’t leave my side. It feels good to be missed!
It really does! I felt so snuggly and warm that night!
OMG, you must have been exhausted, you poor thing. My thing is that I ALWAYS have food with me. Always. And one reason is that airlines never, ever have anything I can eat, nor do conferences, etc. I’m starting to think you need to do the same thing! (Which is a bummer, because, hello, they should accommodate all diets…)
Oh yeah, I had lots of snacks with me. LOTS! I just wanted non-snacky food! Sorry the same thing happens to you.
