- We had a whole week of sun last week! Monday through this Monday! It was so nice!
- I got a heart-themed manicure with Lorena again. I love it!
- I’m noticing some benefits of eating better – I have more energy, I’m waking up earlier, I have less headaches, my clothes fit better, and I don’t have to wear my belt on the first hole anymore (I can do the 2nd or 3rd).
- Ha, last week I told Steven I like that the pharmacists at the anticoagulation clinic laugh at my jokes and he was like, “what kind of jokes do you tell, blood clot jokes?” (no, ha) then he came up with a bunch of ridiculous blood clot jokes. I was laughing so hard I was crying when he told them. Here’s one of the gems (a pun on the drug I take, Coumadin):
- One blood clots asks another blood clot where they like to vacation.
“Florida,” they respond.
“Oh, I don’t like Florida,” the first one says, “it’s the coumidity.”
- Last week I asked my doctor if he was going to order new imaging for my April appointment with him and he said no, it was just an appointment to talk to him. Um… why? Why go all the way there (it’s almost an hour from home and I don’t think telehealth is an option) for me to say I feel fine and for him to tell me to stay on Coumadin and come back in 3 months? No thanks. So (with Steven’s help and encouragement) I asked them to order imaging and blood work for me (they did) to do right before the appointment so my doctor will have my most current information AT THE APPOINTMENT, and not tell me to go get it after then never get back to me (which is what’s happened the last two times). I really hope this helps!
- One last health thing – I was able to get my Coumadin refilled in advance this time, yay! It did require calling my health insurance to get them to approve more pills earlier (since they are upping my dosages), but they did! So much adulting.

Good for you for requesting imaging and bloodwork before your appointment – I can’t believe it’s an hour drive to get to their office. That must be so frustrating! There’s no reason you need to make that drive for just a conversation he could do over the phone.
Right! That was my thought process EXACTLY! If I come there, it better be for a reason. I already know he is going to say to stay on the drugs for another 3 months and come back for imaging. He is super conservative.
