A few highlights from the weekend!
Friday
- Breakfast sandwiches.
- Having a surprise half day! We got an email midweek that we could take 3 hours of leave Friday afternoon if we wanted.
- Going to the beach.
- Taking a nap.
- Getting the trust to do list ready. There is a lot on there, but it feels good to have things in motion and somewhat of an action plan.
- A bath.
- My images (xrays and ultrasounds) arriving at the house. Brief recap – they were done in one health system and my current health system said they never received them when I requested them in September. I had them sent to me, so they would not get lost when sent to the doctor. Ready to read some bs? The next day, I got another CD with the same images on it, from the health system who said they never received them. They had – the CD was dated September, when I first requested them. They just too freaking unorganized to have looked at them and put them in my system. Sigh. There is so much to unpack with how sh*tty that office is.
- A friendly neighborhood cat visiting. It was so cute – I went out to feed Snow Jr and this cat showed up! So Snow Jr let them eat their food then I fed Snow Jr after.
- El Famous for dinner.
- Finishing Top Gun: Maverick (we had started it the night before).
Saturday
- Going back to bed until 10:00. I had a sore throat and didn’t sleep well and needed the rest.
- Adding feet to the outdoor cat house and moving it closer to the deck. Steven has plans to put a concrete base (with heating?) around the house itself, and a wood skirt to match the deck. It’s already so heavy now, ha.
- Doing errands together. I was happy to drop more off at Goodwill. Bye bye, junk!
- Painting after dinner.
Sunday
- Taking a walk together. I hid my first rock of the year and decided to try to hide one a day for the year. We’ll see how long that lasts.
- Yummy salads for lunch.
- The new UV lamp working. Steven has been trying to find lamps that will cure my UV resin fast for months and finally found one – a reptile lamp!!!! Mind blown.
- Putting new pins in our world map. I ran out of black pins (which show places we’ve both been) and couldn’t find the same length of pins again so I bought all new, shorter ones (which we like better!) and we replaced ALL the pins and added six locations we hadn’t marked yet – Bayfield, WI; Eureka Springs, AR; Boulder, CO; Cheyenne, WY; Omaha, NE; and Los Angeles, CA.
- A bath.
- Chili and cornbread for dinner.
Monday
- A walk followed by lifting.
- Painting and watching Firefly Lane.
- Having a couple cups of tea.
- FaceTime with Val.
- More painting. There are not many highlights listed for this day, but it was another perfect day off!
Lowlights
- Instagram locking me out. I logged in and out of my account Saturday am to see if it would fix something (it didn’t) and I could not get back into my personal account. I have 2FA turned on and it NEVER texts me the code, so I tried the recovery codes and they didn’t work – even though they were from a few days prior. I had to submit a request with a video selfie for them to retrieve my account and they did it surprisingly fast but it was still super annoying. I changed my 2FA to an authentication app for both accounts.
- Being sick. It’s not horrible, but I didn’t sleep well for several days and felt a bit low on energy.
Ugh, the issues with your doctor’s office are really frustrating! Is there any way you could change doctors, or would that be an even bigger headache?
So sweet of Snow Jr to let the neighborhood cat eat first! What a gentleman.
HOORAY for the reptile UV lamp working for your resin work! That’s an amazing find and my little heart goes mushy that Steven kept trying to find the perfect lamp for you. <3
So I could change but I think then I would be changing to a new network, so it would be a hassle to get them to communicate with my PCP in the old network, etc. Definitely something to think about though!
Isn’t he though? LOL
Mine too! He’s so sweet to always try to make things better and easier for me!
