A few highlights from the weekend!

Friday

  • The specialist’s office calling me back and making an appointment to see the specialist on Saturday. Luckily someone canceled… and luckily they were randomly open on a Saturday!
  • Receiving a package from my snister. She found these cute little cat keychains I’d been looking for at Target and surprised me with vegan candy corn (I had been looking for it!) and a box of Real Littles.
  • Receiving a donation for Sip & Purr.
  • El Famous for dinner.
  • Painting a little after dinner.
  • Finishing I’m Glad My Mom Died. What a good book!
  • Starting Night Road. So far it’s really good too.

Saturday

  • A yummy breakfast sandwich and hashbrowns.
  • Getting an action plan from the specialist. I will stay on blood thinners and wear a compression sock daily for three months, then see him for scans. UNLESS the blood test or images (from my Sept 3 ER visit) show something concerning, in which case I will go back in for more testing and to develop a new plan. (<– this is the very abbreviated version of my visit).
  • Hearing I can still go on the trip with my snister. The doctor said no flying for 4 weeks after diagnosis. Our trip is just outside of that. I had to cancel my trip to DC today though.
  • Getting a Starbucks chai. Thanks snis!
  • Seeing (and feeding) three little kittens. There are two black ones and a Siamese. They’re adorable!
  • Receiving a lovely package in the mail from my friend Meghan. She made me a Ned stuffie and sent me adorable Pusheen earrings and fun stickers!
  • Homemade Big Macs for dinner. So good.
  • Painting after dinner.

Sunday

  • Sleeping through the night.
  • Homemade donuts!
  • Homemade crunchwraps for lunch.
  • Kind of having a chill day? Meh. I was a bit out of sorts.

Lowlights

  • Being up from midnight to 5:00 am Friday. This set me up for complete failure again on Saturday, like last week. I woke up and could not get back to bed so I read, then finally got up and did some computer work.
  • All the running around Saturday. And the stress of the doctor appointment. It was 30 miles away, so that took time to get to. They ordered blood work but didn’t make me an appointment so I had to wait in a long line and was worried I would be turned away (luckily the receptionist showed me how to add an appointment on the app). Trying to get the test images from the other healthcare network (I will never go to a different network ER again, so dumb of me). Getting fitted for the compression sock. Canceling my work trip to DC (that was supposed to be today). It was just too much all at once, but I got as much done as I could then felt wiped the rest of the day.
