- Today is my blogiversary! I have been blogging for 17 years!
- On July 3rd we planted trees and I was careful to avoid the poison ivy in our yard, but it showed up on my wrist a few days later and I am still suffering from it. It spread to my arms, shoulders, chest, stomach, and thighs. Fun times. The original spot on my wrist is the only spot to blister and scab over. I’m so itchy.
- I am falling apart. Tuesday of last week I hurt my ankle getting out of Steven’s car (as in, I got out and stepped on it normal and pain shot up it) and it’s still swollen and hurts quite a bit during the night. More fun times. Wah wah wah.
- I took the week of August 1st off for a trip that got canceled and now I am like… should I just do a staycation? I’ve been so miserable at work, it might be nice, but it feels a bit wasteful.

Blogography turned 19 years old in April, but I had two blogs before that in the three years prior. It’s weird how the death of blogging makes it seem much longer than that… but in so many ways it seems like it was just yesterday. β After traveling so much for such a huge part of my life I live for staycations now. Chilling with my cats is the best. Sadly, I can’t even manage to get time off of work for that!
Congratulations on 19+ years! And I agree that the death of blogging makes it feel longer.
I hope you get some time off soon!!!! We rarely travel so I kind of save long chunks of day off for the potential we will… but we won’t so I should just stay home!
Oh man, what a week you’ve had! Poison ivy, hurt ankle… it seems like you need that staycation more than ever! I am a huge fan of staycations and I love taking time off with no intentions of traveling or doing anything productive. We need that sometimes!
I’m sorry work has been miserable. <3
Happy blogiversary!
IKR? I keep telling Steven what a freaking mess I am! I think I do need the staycation. Any tips on making sure you don’t feel like you wasted it? I don’t want to be super productive but I don’t want to regret taking the time off. Maybe I need to make a list of things I enjoy! Like, I can get out the hammock and read, paint rocks, go to the beach, NAP.
Thanks. I am trying to stay positive but it’s HARD. Most issues that come to be are big ones that I have no history on and I just feel stupid all the time.
Thank you!
Ugh I hate poison ivy! Did you wear gloves that could have had oil from past exposures on them? I have a pair of gloves I’m avoiding for that reason.
They were actually brand new gloves! π It must have gotten on my clothes somehow.
