A few highlights from the weekend!
Thursday
- Picking up desserts for the sprinkle at Whole Foods.
- Kuma’s Corner for dinner. This is one of the places that makes me realize how much prices have gone up – it was $18 for my burger and fries. But, YUM.
- Bobbi stopping by with a present she made for my snis’s sprinkle. Bobbi texted me last weekend asking if I had any yarn leftover from my snister’s baby blanket, because she wanted to crochet her an animal to go along with it. How thoughtful! She made that cute rabbit in the top right pic!
- Getting the house ready to go and packing. I hate doing it, but feel anxious until it’s done… so it’s good to get done.
Friday
- A short run before our drive to Iowa.
- Stopping for a chai. Raspberry syrup was back in stock! Woot! Lowlight – dropping my phone on the parking lot. The case got scratched but that is only damage. I drop this huge iPhone so much more than my other ones.
- A decent drive.
- Arriving at my snister’s and chatting a bit before helping clean the house to prep for the party.
- Yummy tacos by Mom for dinner.
- Picking up food for the party and being completely astonished by how big and organized my snister’s Walmart’s craft section is. They had so many options, and it was all so put together!
- Preparing the game prizes for the party and more house prep.
Saturday
- Painting a bit with William in the morning.
- Choosing a 3D print with Will – Cat Bus! And him starting it.
- More party prep – getting all the food ready and hiding items for one of the games.
- My snis doing my hair and making it look nice.
- The party! The sprinkle turned out so good! I’ll write a separate post with details!
- People sticking around after the party to chat – I appreciate that since it’s hard to chat when hosting.
- Dinner out to celebrate our sister-in-law Alyssa’s birthday.
- Going to bed. Ha. I had 4 hours of sleep the previous night, had eaten odd food and was dehydrated – it felt good to lie down.
Sunday
- Waking up and seeing progress on Cat Bus. 3D printers are really fun to watch!
- A walk with Dad. Gah, it was so windy! But we had fun chatting and hiding rocks.
- Picking up donuts (including vegan ones).
- Everyone coming over for pizza for lunch. I actually saw all 3 of my siblings on National Sibling Day!
- Chatting with everyone before leaving.
- Steven driving the entire way home, yay!
- Eating a real dinner when we got home and seeing the cats.
Lowlights
- Ned seemed to have regressed while we were gone. He used to do this thing where he’d hang out on the stairs and get the trio in the bedroom and he was doing that again. And that made them too scared to come in eat. The sitter kept telling us they weren’t eating their wet food and we could see dry food left in the bowls. Sigh. Little stinker.
- Being so (understandably) worn out.
That was such a sweet and thoughtful gift from Bobbi! I love it so much.
I’m glad your sister’s sprinkle was such a success! You look so beautiful!!
I’m bummed to hear that Ned regressed. That boy!!
Wasn’t it? And it was so fun to surprised Christina with it!
Thank you!
Sigh. I know. We are out of town again next weekend and I am concerned!
So happy to see that the celebration of your sister and the new baby went so well. You always look SO happy in the pictures with your family – it makes me smile.
Ned…argh…
Aww, thanks! I love spending time with them!
I know right? It’s like he had to misbehave because Mom and Dad were gone.
