A few highlights from the weekend!
Thursday
- Finding out my new position at work. It’s not what I asked for but it’s what I thought I would be assigned. It’s a big change. Funny enough, I have the same title. I haven’t really processed it yet. I am just glad I know now.
- Finding a video showing all the stiches for the chevron blanket I am knitting my snister (after looking for each one individually). Yay for YouTube! It was so nice to watch that Friday morning to get started.
- Apollo going nuts for some new toys that came in the mail.
- El Famous for dinner.
Friday
- Having Friday off.
- Getting started on the blanket. The first day went well! I didn’t start making mistakes until day 2. Ugh. It’s 169 x 200 = 33,800 stitches, Mistakes will happen.
- Meeting Steven for lunch. He forgot something at home so we used it as a chance to get lunch (at Burger King, which was not good, ha).
- A soft and squishy run.
- Working on the blanket more.
- Painting a rock as a gift I should have painted a month earlier (because it’s going to Australia). Ha, but then I remembered they are moving so I shouldn’t ship it yet anyway!
Saturday
- Seeing some new cat friends (although it always makes me sad to see strays).
- Knitting and being lazy in the morning.
- My first double digit run of the year!
- A package from a friend in Canada. My rock friends really spoil me!
- Knitting and painting after dinner.
- Letting the Ned out with the cats a bit. We’ve been doing this a bit – letting Ned out and showing the cats they will all get played with at the same time (and get treats and fed together too – although they still eat with a gate between them). We’re seeing lots of progress. They definitely aren’t BFFs though!
Sunday
- Going back to bed and sleeping in. Ha. I went back to bed around 8:00 and slept until after 9:30!
- Another lazy morning and early afternoon of hanging out and knitting.
- Catching up with my mom during a walk.
- Painting and knitting after dinner. I am trying to still do some easy rocks so I have things to post and hide, ha.
I’m sorry that your new position isn’t what you wanted. That has to be a bit demoralizing. Womp.
Hooray for more progress on the Ned front. Hopefully they will be more and more comfortable being around him, even if they don’t become best friends.
Thanks, it really is. It hasn’t sunken in yet. My role is really going to change.
Right! Yesterday I started feeding them next to each other, rather than behind the gate, and that is going okay!
I like hearing about the Ned updates!
Can you share the youtube video for the knitting stitches? Do you have a pattern for the blanket? I’ve never knitted a pattern but I’m interested in maybe learning.
Thanks!
Yep, here you go:

Def let me know if you try it!
Oooh, fingers crossed things continue to go well for Ned and the Cats. (LOL, sounds like a music group from the 50s…)
But man, that’s a bummer about the job. How are you feeling about it now?
Ha, it does! Things are slowly getting better!
I am still the same about work but hopefully it goes well when we make the change!
